Mary-Kate Olsen Married: Bob Saget Confirms He Wasn’t Invited

Over the weekend, reports emerged stating Mary Kate Olsen had gotten hitched to longtime boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy. Olsen’s old Full House co-star Bob Saget confirmed the news of Olsen’s wedding. Mary-Kate was one half of the dynamic duo that played his daughter, Michelle Tanner, for eight years on the hit ABC show.

Bob Saget also confirmed that he was not invited to the soiree but it seems like he wasn’t hurt about it. Saget told the Today Show, “I was not invited, but I’m very happy and I sent a Mazel tov text. I’m very happy. I love her very much. I hope they’re happy.”

Aside from the Full House cast taping the Fuller House spin-off series for Netflix, the Full House clan have gotten together over the years for reunions, but the Olsen twins have missed out on most of those reunions. While the cast members have never spoken ill of the twins, it doesn’t seem like Mary-Kate and Ashley have kept touch. The twins have virtually left the acting world to pursue their passion in expanding their clothing brand. They have designed their own line of clothing for many years and have been extremely profitable.

The wedding was a surprise to many media outlets even though the pair were engaged for some time now. Elizabeth Olsen was coy when asked about her holiday plans, saying, “It’s gonna be a family thing. I’m really really excited.” She forgot to mention that her older sister, Mary-Kate, was getting married that weekend.

According to Page Six, although the wedding was super low key, it seemed like it was a lively event. According to a source, the event had 50 guests in attendance and it took place in the couple’s private home in New York City. Guests were treated to cocktails in the couple’s garden area and had dinner inside the house. The house was also stocked with cigarettes. Not just a pack of cigarettes or two, either. Mary Kate went all out as her wedding offered, “bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes, and everyone smoked the whole night.”

It’s not known if any of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s cast members from Full House were present at the wedding, but seeing as how intimate the gathering was, it’s likely safe to say that they were not invited. It seems the wedding was just for family and very close friends. As it stands, the Olsens are the only cast members not returning to the Fuller House spin-off show.

According to E!, back in May, when rumors were still running rampant about whether or not the Olsen twins would be a part of Fuller House, executive producer Robert L. Boyett said in a statement that they wouldn’t be coming back to set.

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family. It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.”

Castmate Lori Loughlin, who plays Aunt Becky on the show, recently commented to Huffington Post about whether or not there’s still a chance the twins may appear in the role of Michelle Tanner. She said, “I don’t think they’re going to make a cameo. They didn’t this season.”

Early on, the twins stated that they had no idea Fuller House was even happening when the idea was brought to them. At the time, castmate John Stamos said the statement was “BS.”
