‘Bachelor’ Ben Higgins Talks About Sex And What He Expects From His Ladies This Season

The Bachelor Ben Higgins gave out his final rose almost two weeks ago, but fans won’t find out who he picked until the show premieres in January, 2016. Now that he is back home, he has to keep the finale a big secret — something that won’t be easy with spoilers ruining the ending of almost all of the most recent seasons of ABC’s popular reality show.

During an interview with Extra last week, Ben kept his lips sealed about who (if anyone) he picked, but he did reveal some tidbits of information about what he expects from the ladies cast for his season. He also talked about his sex life and the advice he got from former Bachelor stars Chris Soules, Jason Mesnick, and Sean Lowe.

As far Ben’s sex life goes, fans may be disappointed to learn that he didn’t spill any details about the often hot and steamy hookups that go on during the famous Fantasy Suite dates. Instead he hinted that his mother probably won’t be shocked at anything that goes on during his season, telling Extra‘s Renee Bargh that she wasn’t even surprised when he revealed on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of the Bachelorette that he is not a virgin.

During the interview, Ben talked about what he wants from the 28 girls who hopefully came on the show to find love with the 27-year-old software salesman from Colorado. Higgins said that he is confident that he can find a wife on the show despite the drama that will surround him and he hopes that the girls will experience their “raw emotions” so he can really get to know them.

“Like, I wanna allow them to like experience their raw emotions. Like I want them to be able to express themselves.”

There is no doubt that he will see raw emotion on the show, but it may not be the kind he’s looking for. Blogger Reality Steve, who has been leaking out details about Ben’s girls since filming started in September, states that there is at least one “drama queen” on the show this season. If she turns out to be as dramatic and controversial as Kelsey Poe from Chris Soules’ season, then Ben really has his work cut out for him.

Before filming started in September, Ben got some friendly advice from three guys who handed out roses in previous seasons. It’s become a tradition for at least one former Bachelor to meet up with the “new guy” to send him off on his journey to find love, but considering Ben is the star of the franchise’s 20th season, producers made a big deal out of the advice session and brought on three of the show’s most popular stars — Jason Mesnick (season 13), Sean Lowe (season 17), and Chris Soules (season 19).

Chris Soules admitted that he got a hard time for kissing a lot of women on the show, but wouldn’t say whether or not Ben should follow in his footsteps. Instead, he made it clear that Ben will “blow him out of the water” when it comes to being the Bachelor. Perhaps that’s why the ABC is calling him “Perfect Ben?”

Sean Lowe is always at-the-ready with advice about love, telling People that he should “stay true” to himself and show the girls his true personality. Fans who follow Higgins on Twitter know that he’s not only a compassionate guy with his charitable work in Honduras, but he has a great sense of humor as well.

Jason Mesnick got engaged to Melissa Rycroft when he was the Bachelor, but broke off the engagement after the show ended. Now married to his runner-up, Molly (Melaney) Mesnick, Jason didn’t have any advice, but did have a few compliments for ABC’s new leading man.

“My wife says he’s a much younger, better-looking version of me. She thinks he’s really hot.”

Watch the two-hour premiere of ABC’s The Bachelor season 20 starring Ben Higgins at 8 p.m. ET on January 4, 2016.
