Jack Osbourne: “Honestly, I’m Fine” After MS Diagnosis [Video]

Jack Osbourne appeared on his mother’s talk show The Talk on Wednesday to talk about his recent Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. In the interview, Jack seemed in high spirits, and admitted that he is “doing fine” since the news of his condition.

“Honestly, I’m fine.” The 26-year-old said after being welcomed to the set and asked about the diagnosis. Osbourne detailed that he had been experiencing symptoms for the past three or four years, but due to the seeming randomness of MS symptoms, he didn’t think much of the individual occurrences. He finally went for an exam when he lost vision in his right eye, and that’s when he received the unfortunate diagnosis. He also said that about 80% of his vision has returned.

Osbourne detailed the symptoms of his disease, which he has labelled “totally unpredictable,” citing numbness in his legs, as well as bladder and stomach issues. He seemed confident and easy going as he revealed the personal aspects of living with MS, and said that he has only been officially diagnosed for five weeks.

Osbourne’s fiancee Stelly joined the dais later in the program, saying that “I think me and Jack are doing better than everyone else,” regarding his diagnosis. “We’re just really trying to stay positive and, like he said, we don’t really have that much time to be sad because we’ve got diapers to change and a little girl to look at and smile at. We’ve been having a lot of fun and he’s going to be OK.”

Osbourne said that though some perceive MS as a death sentence, it’s a “huge misconception” and that the worst part about living with the disease are the amino acid injections, which “really sting.”

The death-sentence-misconception has also cost Osbourne work, which he also counts as a negative stemming from the diagnosis. “I had just booked a job when I got diagnosed and, unfortunately, the company that hired me didn’t think I could actually perform the job. Out of everything, that’s what ticked me off the most,” said Osbourne. “Don’t tell me what I can and cannot do.”
