‘Fantastic Beasts’ Stars Afraid To Give Away Spoilers: Here’s What’s Been Revealed So Far

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is currently being filmed in the UK, but they have run into a bit of a snag. It seems that while they were intent on filming a movie, Storm Barney had other plans for the set. According to Mirror, Storm Barney is only the second storm that has hit the U.K. that has been strong enough to be named. It bore down on the country and severely damaged the set of Fantastic Beasts with winds that reached as high as 85 mph in some areas.

The Watford Observer reports that the set of the Fantastic Beasts movie had to be evacuated from the Leavesden site on Tuesday. The green screen covering the set was torn apart, but repairs have been made and filming has resumed.

Despite this, the show must – and will – go on. New photos are coming from the set of Fantastic Beasts, which stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who loses a bunch of magical creatures in the streets of New York. While many of the same photos were released a few weeks ago and featured by Entertainment Weekly, the Independent reports that the pics have now been released as versions that can be used as a desktop background.

According to Business Standard, Eddie Redmayne insists that he is not the only central character to the movie.

“The assumption is Newt’s front and center, but it’s a quartet. So that feels like it slightly takes the [pressure] off. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself.”

There are three other characters that join Newt to help him on his adventure. One character is Tina (Katherine Waterston), who works for the Magical Congress of USA. There is Queenie (Alison Sudol), who has telepathic abilities. Finally, there is Jacob (Dan Fogler), who has been labeled “the first Muggle main character in the franchise.”

Everyone is excited for the new Fantastic Beasts movie, which is due out December 18, 2016, but perhaps none more so than Harry Potter himself. Daniel Radcliffe told E! News how excited he is about the new movie.

“I can barely keep myself in this chair. Yes, I am very excited but I’ve also been asked about it a lot, and I don’t have any information to give unfortunately.”

As for words of advice for Eddie Redmayne, who is entering the Harry Potter universe for the first time in the Fantastic Beasts movie, Radcliffe has some sage words.

“I don’t think he needs advice, just like enjoy it. I don’t think there’s anything to live up to as well, especially in a way because it’s not like there’s original source material which is a very strong narrative. You know the Fantastic Beasts book is really cool… I hope he’s just enjoying it.”

It’s almost certain Redmayne will enjoy every moment of filming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It appears others cast in the movie are also enjoying it, even if they aren’t allowed to reveal any plot details. This includes Katherine Waterston, playing the part of Porpentina Goldstein, who said the only thing she can say is she has a bob hairstyle for the movie. She also admitted to being nervous about revealing spoilers.

“I’m sure I can tell you a little bit more, but I’m just so afraid that, you know, I’m gonna get shot in the head. So I’m just gonna leave it at that.”
