Daughter Ends All Forms Of Communication With Her Mother For A Year After Learning She Was Intimate With Her Boyfriend – But That’s Not The Worst Part

Danni Summers, 21, of Leeds, West Yorkshire, says that she ended all forms of communication with her mother, Marie, after learning she had sexual intercourse with her 34-year-old boyfriend, Anthony Key, but that’s not the worst part, reported the Mirror. When the mother and daughter reconnected after one year, Danni soon discovered that her now ex-boyfriend will be her new step-father. Marie and Key were engaged to be married. However, Danni says that she will not be attending their upcoming wedding “because it would be awkward for us all. I can’t forget what happened, but I have forgiven my mum and I’m happy for her.”

Danni went on to say that people may judge her for forgiving her mother as they would expect her to hold a grudge, but she says that would mean she would have to get acclimated to having her mother out of her life. As a young adult, Danni wasn’t ready to live without her mother for the rest of her life; therefore, her only option was to forgive her.

“She’s my mum and I love her. Nothing will change that. I thought it was just sex or a cheap affair, but they are in love and Anthony isn’t going anywhere, so I have to deal with that.”

According to the Siasat Daily, Danni began dating Key in October of 2011 despite the fact that he was known to be a “player” and a heartbreaker. She said “He treated me like a grown-up, taking me out on dates to the cinema and buying me little gifts.” When her mother met her boyfriend, Danni stated that she made a remark about Anthony being good-looking. But she “didn’t think anything of it because we were friends as well as mother and daughter.”

Danni also stated that her mother would often criticize the way she treated Key.

“She thought I treated Anthony badly sometimes because, being young, I still wanted to go out with friends and couldn’t understand why he wanted to stay home or at Mum’s so much.” Although she had her own apartment, the pair would often spend long hours at her mother’s house, which would give Marie and Key ample time to get acquainted.

The two grew closer after Key “took a bad fall on his ankle and spent weeks bedridden” and decided to stay at Marie’s home in Long Eaton, Notts. Marie said “I’ve taken in a few waifs and strays in my time and had another male friend staying, sleeping on the sofa. I told Anthony he could sleep in my bed as long as there was no funny business. I won’t lie, I was attracted to him. But he was my daughter’s boyfriend and I never thought anything would happen. It was all pretty innocent.”

But it wasn’t long before Marie ended up having sex with her daughter’s boyfriend. The grandmother-of-seven said “It just happened. It wasn’t something we had planned, but once we had slept together we just kind of knew it was meant to be. The question was, what and how would we tell Danni? I didn’t want to hurt her.”

After Marie and her daughter’s boyfriend had sex, Danni says he was acting odd. One day he started to cry for no reason and she “asked him what was wrong, but he wouldn’t say. I got fed up and said I was going to leave if he didn’t tell me and it was then he blurted out, ‘I slept with your mum’. My jaw dropped.”

“I was so shocked I walked out the door. I called Mum and asked her if it was true and she said yes.”

Danni immediately hung up the phone and didn’t speak to her mother for a year. She even stopped talking to her siblings because she couldn’t bear to talk about what happened. She moved in with her father and it wasn’t until she met someone else, fell in love, and was seven months pregnant that she got in contact with her mother again. But by that time, Marie was already engaged to her daughter’s now ex-boyfriend and Danni made it clear that she will not be attending.

The relationship between Danni and her mother is now stronger than ever before.

“If I went back in time, I’m not sure I’d do the same again,” Marie said. “It hurt Danni so much. Of course we will miss her at the wedding, but I ­understand why she can’t be there. She’s my little girl and I’m only pleased she could find it in her heart to forgive me.”
