Thanksgiving revelers can top off their meal when they watch one of the oldest National Football League rivalries live online, as the Chicago Bears visit the Green Bay Packers in the 192nd meeting between the two storied franchises — this one with playoff implications for both teams.
For the Packers, who bounced back with a clinical 30-13 victory over Minnesota on Sunday to snap a three-game losing streak, the Bears game represents a chance to start pulling away from the Vikings on top of the NFC South division. A win would also put the Packers just a single game in the loss column behind the Arizona Cardinals in the race for a one of the two first-round byes in the playoffs.
The Bears, on the other hand, could gain ground in the crowded field jostling for one of the two NFC Wild Card playoff berths. A win would put Chicago at 5-6, just a half game behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card standings.

The Bears lost last week to the Denver Broncos after winning two in a row, but on Thanksgiving Night they get a boost from the expected return of 29-year-old, nine-year veteran running back, Matt Forte.
The two-time pro-bowler blasted through the Packers line for 141 yards the first time the two teams met in the 2015 season, back in Week One, averaging 5.88 yards per carry. But his effort came in a losing cause, and Forte has now missed the Bears last three games with a knee sprain.

The Packers and Bears have a tradition of playing games in often brutal cold weather conditions, and while the forecast for Thanksgiving night is not as tough for as many previous Lambeau Field showdowns, the weather won’t exactly be balmy either. Gametime temperature is forecast for 37 degrees, with a “feel” of 27 degrees due to wind and rain. Chilly precipitation is expected to fall throughout most of the game.
The game will also be an emotional occasion for the Packers, as the team will take halftime to honor Brett Favre, by retiring the Number “4” worn by the iconic Packers quarterback — even though Favre left the team on acrimonious terms in 2008, to be replaced by Aaron Rodgers.
“I think the healing process is great to really honor him for what he accomplished here and move forward together.”
Will the Green Bay Packers continue their rebound from a three-game losing streak and move into sole possession of the NFC North lead? Or will the Chicago Bears bounce back from last week’s loss to Denver and boost themselves right back into the playoff picture?
