A Thanksgiving Day tradition continues with the Purina National Dog Show. While many think of football, parades, and food for Thanksgiving, some 22 million people will turn on their televisions and watch as over 2,000 purebred dogs compete for the title of Best in Show. The Purina National Dog show will air at noon (all time zones) on NBC, and feature the top dogs in the nation. So, where can you watch the national dog show online?

The Purina National Dog Show will air on NBC at noon across all time zones. The competition takes place directly after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and will feature over 2,000 dogs across a variety of breeds. The purebred pooches will be competing for the honor of being named the Best in Show as an estimated 22 million people tune in for the event.

According to the official National Dog Show website, over 150 different breeds and varieties compete for best of Breed, First in Group, and the coveted title of Best in Show. Each day brings different competitions and attractions. The organization notes that the National Dog Show is special because it is one of the few “benched” dog shows. Unlike “non-benched” dog shows, the dogs at this national show must remain on designated “benches” throughout the whole event. This allows access to the dogs by interested parties throughout the showing.

“This allows for all interested spectators, breeders, handlers and attendees to meet all of the participating dogs, interact, ask questions, and share information about the various breeds present at the show.”

The National Dog Show is one of the oldest benched dog shows and the most watched dog show in the United States. Therefore, if you don’t want to miss out on all the fun, be sure to tune in for the big event. The National Dog Show will not only be available on the television, but also will be streaming live online at NBC Sports Live.
