Ellen Convinces ‘Today’ Hosts Kathie Lee Gifford And Hoda Kotb To Do The Show Naked?

Ellen DeGeneres can work magic with all sorts of people. Just recently, she convinced the hosts of Today, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, along with Regis Philbin, to do the show naked! Well, not really, but Ellen was poking fun at Miley Cyrus and her desire to have an all-nude concert, and she showed what Today would be like if the hosts tried the same thing.

“Look what they’ve done!”

Kathy Lee and Hoda had a good laugh about the clip.

“She’s right, nobody wants to see that! Oh, my gosh that’s funny.”

Ellen also had One Direction on the show recently to talk about Zayn leaving the group, but conversation inevitably turned to more personal matters. Ellen wanted to know how well fans know the band, so they played “Never Have I Ever.”

One question came around to whether or not any of the band members had ever had a song written about them. Movie News Guide reports that when they all put their paddles up to say “I haven’t,” Ellen turned Harry’s paddle around, telling him not to lie.

“We’re not going to play if you are going to lie.”

Watching One Direction squirm during the game is a treat. Check it out here.

Movie News Guide also reports Ellen asked Harry about his activities at their recent performances, in which he dowsed the audience with water.

“It was really bold of you. They seemed to enjoy it, but you just decided to spray water in the front row. They were like, ‘Ohmigod, he did it, so it’s okay.’ If anybody else, if a stranger all the sudden just opened water and poured it on them, they’d be ‘Hey, you idiot!’ “

Not only has Ellen excelled at getting her guests to open up and confess their deepest secrets, she has also scared them silly over the years, something that she revealed in a video montage of her best celebrity scares that she created to celebrate the 121 scares she has done over the years. She aired the montage of scares the week after her 2,000th episode, and they are pretty hilarious.

Ellen doesn’t just bring out confessions, craziness, and fear in her guests — she sometimes reveals her own emotional rollercoaster. She recently talked with Entertainment Tonight about her role as Dory, the lovable fish in the movie Finding Nemo, and how the role came along at one of the lowest points in her life.

“I hadn’t worked at all. People don’t realize that, because it took three years to do Finding Nemo. In the time that [The Ellen Show] was canceled, while I was doing nothing, [writer/director] Andrew Stanton had heard my voice on TV and how rambling I was and how I never stayed on topic, and he wrote Dory with me in mind.”

She was particularly fond of the phrase Dory always uttered.

“By the time Nemo was coming out, I had just gotten [Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show], but during that time nothing had happened. So ‘just keep swimming’ certainly applies to me and to a lot of people out there.”

Now Ellen is set to play Dory once again as she stars in Finding Dory. Disney has released an official trailer for the new Finding Dory movie, which is due out in 2016.

Fans have been waiting a long time for this sequel, and so has Ellen. Ellen will continue to delight guests and fans, not only on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, but as Dory in the upcoming movie, set to be released next June. Way to “just keep swimming” Ellen!
