Kim Kardashian’s Unique Approach To Frightening Pregnancy Health Concerns

Kim Kardashian, lovely star of the reality TV series Keeping Up With the Kardashians and wife to rapper Kanye West, has very recently learned that her soon-to-be-born baby boy is still firmly planted in the breech position, when he should be facing down by now, getting ready for the long road to delivery.

Pregnant with her second child, Kim Kardashian has made no secret of the difficulty she had throughout her pregnancy with now two-year-old daughter North (Nori) West.

Hollywood Life reports that Kim Kardashian was rushed to the emergency room in a great deal of pain. Kim is worried the complications she had with her first pregnancy will return with her second. Kardashian’s daughter was delivered early due to preeclampsia, which the Mayo Clinic defines as “a pregnancy complication characterized by high blood pressure and signs of damage to another organ system, often the kidneys.” This serious condition can only be treated by delivering the baby. Kim Kardashian also has a condition where the placenta implants too deeply into the uterus. This is best described in Kim’s own words, from a blog she wrote on her website.

“I had early-onset preeclampsia and I had to deliver at 34 weeks, almost six weeks early. We induced my labor and I had North soon after. Right after delivery, the placenta usually then comes out. Mine did not. My placenta stayed attached inside my uterus, which is a condition called placenta accreta. This is a high-risk condition that happens when the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall.”

Kardashian notes that her doctor, who actually delivered Kim when she was born, warned her that there is a small likelihood that she will need to undergo a hysterectomy to remove her uterus immediately upon giving birth. Kim Kardashian has asked for prayer for the safety of her child and herself. The 35-year-old mom only has four more weeks left before her son is due, so he has already eclipsed North’s premature birth by two weeks, but it looks like the possibility of another early birth is a real concern. The news of the newest Kardashian boy’s breech position is just misery heaped on misery for Kim. An unnamed source says Kim is so worried about the potential health problems she and her baby face that she is nearly panic-stricken.

“Having this child means the world to her, but she’s so terrified that there’s nothing anyone can say or do to calm her down. She won’t feel better until the baby is safely in her arms.”

Desperately wanting to avoid a surgery, Kim has begun searching the internet on tips to help a baby in the breech position turn. The Los Angeles Times reports that Kim Kardashian plans on having a vaginal birth, and is willing to stop at nothing to make it happen.

“I guess 4 percent of women are faced with this — so, lucky me! It’s been hard because I usually go to my mom or [sister] Kourtney for baby and pregnancy advice, but they both — with nine total pregnancies! — have never experienced one of these crazy things. I’m doing the research myself and want to share with you what I know. Obviously, if it’s an emergency and for the safety of my son, I will get a C-section — but if I don’t need one, I’d rather not.”

In the attempt to turn her baby into the correct position, Kim Kardashian has undergone somewhat unorthodox treatment methods. She is seeing a chiropractor, Dr. Berlin, who is known as the “pregnancy chiropractor.” Some of the quirkier treatments Kim has tried include hypnosis, laying upside down three times a day, and acupuncture.

Having researched the situation she is in, Kim Kardashian plans to have a natural birth rather than surgery, and hopes that all will go well. Stay tuned for the continuing saga of Kim Kardashian’s high risk pregnancy.
