Wesley Warren Jr., who made headlines for his condition that has resulted in him having a 100 pound growth on his testicles, has announced that he turned down an offer for free surgery to correct the problem.

As reported by The Las Vegas Review-Journal Warren turned down an offer by the “Dr. Oz Show” to pay for all surgical and further medical costs of the procedure, partially because they wanted exclusive interview rights for the crippled man.

Warren’s condition is caused by a watery buildup that happens around his testicles. He denies that his rejection of the surgery offer is because he wants to retain the fame his condition has brought him.

In speaking about his rejection and the notion of him wanting to stay as he is he said,

“Who would want to live like this? I just don’t want to die during the operation.”

The Las Vegas Review-Journal had previously reported that Warren’s condition prevents him from gaining long term employment and makes using the bathroom extremely difficult. The surgery bring with it some serious risks of complication including death. It also carries the risk that if the doctor’s performing it can’t get the bleeding under control they may have to remove his penis and testicles removed completely.

It has not been easy for Warren since divulging his condition. In 2011 he created a Facebook page to help him raise money for medical expenses but mostly what he got were mocking comments and people trying to make a joke out of his condition.

The Huffington Post is reporting that there have been some very nice people who left comments like:

“Keep praying. God’s going to fix this,”

Keep your head up. You will get the surgery.”
