Monday Night Raw Results: November 23

Monday Night Raw results are in, and it looks like a new stable is being formed, according to WWE.

Roman Reigns demands rematch

Since he lost the title almost immediately after he won and finally captured it for the first time ever, Roman Reigns came out to interrupt Triple H and Stephanie McMahon as they are officially congratulating and introducing the new WWE Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus. Reigns gets blindsided again, but this time it is by the returning Rusev, who was out healing an injury. From the safety of the ramp, HHH informs Reigns that the rematch will happen at TLC instead of on Monday Night Raw.

Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper vs Dudley Boyz

After losing to Kane & Undertaker at the Survivor Series, WWE knew that they needed to give some heat back to the Wyatt Family. Hence, the match against the Dudley Boyz, who were chosen to be the lambs because the Lucha Dragons and Usos are being pushed for TLC. A distraction from Erick Rowan gave the heels a victory, and a predictable beat down took place afterwards.

Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks

Since Sasha is next in line to challenge Charlotte for the WWE Divas Championship, WWE needed to give her some momentum. Televised victories are the method of doing so. Becky is the expendable baby face diva for the month since she is not working a program with anyone at the moment. Sasha got the roll up victory by pulling the trunks, which protects Becky a little.

Result: Sasha via pin fall

New Day celebrates anniversary

There needs to be a tag team match at TLC, so cue New Day, who are out to celebrate their one year anniversary of being a stable in WWE. Though still entertaining, the routine seems a bit forced nowadays. It appears that management is having the writers focus more on scripts for these guys as opposed to just letting them naturally be funny. The open challenge for the belts never took place, but the Usos and Lucha Dragons did come out to set up a triple threat title match at the next pay per view.

Mark Henry vs Neville

In what appears to be the start of a minor push for Neville, he was given a clean victory over Henry, who received some protection from the creative department because he kicked out almost immediately after the third count. WWE then did the respect story line afterwards, which is a way to boost the credibility of Neville.

Result: Neville via pin fall

Goldust & Prime Time Players vs Stardust & Ascension

Since WWE knows that not everyone watched the Survivor Series, they made sure to redo the Goldust return on Monday Night Raw. A random six-man tag team match was the way to further the veteran’s story line with Stardust. The faces got the victory, so that fans could enjoy seeing the trio dancing in the ring together. Goldust and Stardust appear headed towards a match at TLC, possibly during the kickoff show.

Jack Swagger interrupts Alberto Del Rio & Zeb Colter

Since Colter and Del Rio are doing the MexAmerica thing as heels now, an American representative was needed. Enter Swagger. This match originally supposed to take place at the Survivor Series, but when Seth Rollins went down, Del Rio was needed in the tournament. Now, WWE is setting this up for the TLC pay per view, with the United States Heavyweight Championship possibly on the line.

Charlotte vs Paige

Since WWE wanted to stretch out this feud for another month, Charlotte and Paige worked a match on Monday Night Raw. It predictably ended in a no contest, as both divas were counted out of the ring. To give Paige some heat back from the loss at Survivor Series, the creative department had her attack Charlotte on the announce table.

Result: double countout

Health Slater attacks Ryback

Someone backstage wanted to give Slater some rare air time since they were in Nashville, so they gave him a segment where he attempted to entertain the audience. Ryback needed something to do, so WWE had him interrupting the segment. Slater tried to do a sneak attack with his guitar, but Ryback caught it and proceeded with his own attack. Do not expect a feud to come out of this segment.

Dean Ambrose & Dolph Ziggler vs Kevin Owens & Tyler Breeze

WWE has a tendency to put together random tag matches that feature two separate and disconnected feuds to kill some time and help transition from Survivor Series to TLC. It appears that Ambrose and Owens are going to start a feud after both losing to Reigns during the tournament. It is unclear if Breeze and Ziggler will continue after Monday Night Raw.

Result: Ambrose & Ziggler via pin fall.

Roman Reigns vs Rusev

Observant fans saw the stable being telegraphed when this match was announced. Reigns and Rusev went through the motion, and the fans did not seem to particularly care. The writing was on the wall once the referee sent Sheamus away from ringside. Bad News Barrett made his appearance and helped Rusev out. The stable helps to generate more excitement because Sheamus being champion might not be all that thrilling to most WWE fans.

Results: Reigns via disqualification
