Jim Bob Duggar Gives Parenting Advice, Says Remove All Sensual Content

Jim Bob Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting is now giving out parental advice, but considering everything that has happened with his son Josh Duggar, people might think twice about listening to him. Radar Online shared what Jim Bob had to say in a recent blog post. Jim Bob says that all kids are a blessing but then goes on to give his advice about things that can help you with parenting your own children. In this blog, he says the father is the “spiritual leader” and “coach of the home.”

Duggar thinks that you should actually get rid of a lot of material in your home that can cause temptation. Here is what Jim Bob had to say in the blog.

“Start protecting your family by removing books, magazines, television, or internet that have worldly or sensual content. Replace them with good things like wholesome music, biographies of great Christians, good old-fashioned family fun and games.”

This blog post came out not long after another family member shared that, as a teenager, Josh Duggar actually had porn on his computer. This person got a computer that belonged to Josh and found porn on it, but Jim Bob denied it previously belonged to Josh and said that it must have been on there before they got the computer. You have to wonder if this is part of why Jim Bob Duggar is now sharing that parents should keep these things away from their children.

In the original post on the Duggar Family Blog, Jim Bob even reveals that they even used birth control early in their marriage and never expected to have 19 children.

“When Michelle and I first married, we thought we might have one or two children. Four years into to marriage, we had our first child. After that, Michelle went back on the birth control pill. She ended up getting pregnant while on the pill and had a miscarriage.

“We were so grieved. We did not know that sometimes the pill allows you to get pregnant but then causes a miscarriage. We thought we could set our own timetable for having children, for example- when we were ‘financially able,’ or when we ‘had all our ducks in a row.’

“We read in the Bible that God says that children are a blessing and a reward from Him (Psalms 127:1-5). We had been rejecting His gifts. At that point, we prayed and asked God to forgive us and we gave Him this area of our lives. We said, ‘Lord, help us to love children the way that you love children, and Lord we want to receive each one as a gift from you.'”

Basically, Jim Bob Duggar goes on to explain that you will want to teach your children about serving the Lord. He talks about looking for opportunities to serve the Lord and teach others about him as well.

Josh Duggar is actually in rehab right now for sexual addiction. Josh admitted to sexually molesting five young girls when he was just a teenager. After that, news came out that Duggar had actually cheated on his wife, Anna, with more than one woman who he met on the website Ashley Madison. Since this news came out, Josh has been getting help for his addiction, and so far, there is no news when the Duggar son will get to come back home again.

Are you surprised to hear this advice from Jim Bob Duggar? Don’t miss the Duggar family when they return to TLC on December 13 for Jill and Jessa: Counting On. This is a special all about Jessa and Jill, but it has already been shared that Anna will be on the show talking about Josh as well.
