Joan Rivers Calls Christina Aguilera Fat

Joan Rivers is known for a lot of things, and tact isn’t one of them. In May the comedian received flack for making what some would say an inappropriate quip about late singer Whitney Houston. Now the comedian and E! fashion guru has moved onto another pop singer–Christina Aguilera.

During an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Rivers, who’s usually dissing the looks of top A listers come award season, didn’t hide her feelings about Christina Aguilera’s appearance. She was appearing on Fallon to promote her new book, Hate Everyone…Starting with Myself, but managed to turn the conversation to The Voice judge, saying:

“I’m at Spago’s with [my daughter] Melissa, and we’re eating dinner, and Fatso is across the way, and she comes lumbering over with that no-neck look. And I go, ‘Here it comes.’ She comes over to my table and says, ‘You gonna finish that?’”

This isn’t the first time that Joan Rivers has taken Aguilera’s weight up to task. Last year during The Michael Jackson tribute concert, the fashion host criticized Aguilera’s appearance a day after saying, “she looked like a pig” adding, “She’s not just eating apples!”

Although she hasn’t addressed Joan Rivers’ comments personally, Aguilera has been open in the past about her fluctuating weight, saying in January, “I’ve been in this for a long time. I came out on the scene when I was 17 years old. You can never be too much of anything. You can never be too perfect too thin, too curvy, too voluptuous, this, that. I’ve been on all sides of the spectrum.. [Every] female in this business at one time or another has had criticism… I’m very confident in my body. I think my video works over the years have spoken to that… I’ve been no stranger to being very comfortable in my own skin.”
