Easy Thanksgiving Side Dish Recipes: Corn Bread Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Deviled Eggs, Sweet Potato Casserole Are Holiday Favorites

Thanksgiving side dishes are as important as the big turkey that takes center stage on the holiday table. The most popular sides are also the most searched recipes online just days before the annual feast, with green bean casserole, corn bread stuffing, deviled eggs, and sweet potato casserole ranking high on the list.

Find recipes for some of the most popular and easy-to-make Thanksgiving side dishes below from celebrity chefs Paula Deen, Sandra Lee, Martha Stewart, Emeril Lagasse, and Giada De Laurentiis. If you don’t like to mess with tradition, the classic Campbell’s Soup recipe for green bean casserole is included. Can you believe this holiday favorite has been around for 60 years?

Even last-minute shoppers can round up the ingredients to any or all of the recipes listed below. However, be prepared for crowded stores if you wait until the day before Thanksgiving to go shopping, with FOX6 reporting that not only is this a busy week for travel, but an extremely busy time of year at the grocery store. If the long lines make you think twice about cooking a big meal or you burn the turkey, there are dozens of restaurants open on Thursday, but there’s nothing better than homemade.

Green bean casserole is a staple on many Thanksgiving tables. The old-standby from Campbell’s is quick and easy to make and you can dress it up to your liking. Paula Deen adds butter (of course) and grated cheddar cheese to her recipe if you’re looking to add a few more calories to your Thanksgiving intake.

You will need a can of Campbell’s Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup, one-half cup milk, one teaspoon soy sauce, four cups cooked cut green beans, ground black pepper, and one-and-one-third cups French’s French Fried Onions.

To make the casserole, mix together the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, beans and two-thirds cup of onions in a medium-sized baking dish. Place the casserole in a pre-heated 350 degree (F) oven for about 25 minutes until it’s heated through and bubbly. Stir, sprinkle with remaining onions and bake for five more minutes.

Deviled eggs can be served as an appetizer or a side. Classic deviled eggs require very few ingredients, but you can dress them up with bacon, guacamole and even a little crab for a chance of pace. Try Sandra Lee’s bacon deviled eggs recipe if you have bacon lovers at your Thanksgiving table or Giada De Laurentiis’ delicious deviled eggs with crab recipe — both recipes can be prepared in minutes.

Corn bread stuffing — or is it dressing? — is always a hit on Thanksgiving. Whether you stuff your turkey with it or make it in a casserole dish, you may want to make a double batch. Use the leftovers to make a turkey, cranberry and stuffing sandwich.

Skip the Stove Top Stuffing mix in a box and try Paula Deen’s classic Southern Cornbread Stuffing or kick it up a notch by adding bacon to the mix with Emeril Lagasse’s recipe for Bacon and Green Onion Cornbread Dressing.

Sweet potato casserole is a traditional side dish on Thanksgiving. If you have a sweet tooth, the melted marshmallows are you favorite, although health-nuts may think it’s sugar overload. Martha Stewart describes her version of this holiday classic as “a perfect combination of gooey and crunchy.” Don’t care for the marshmallow topping? Paula Deen’s sweet potato souffle recipe is equally sinful, but topped with a delicious mixture of brown sugar and pecans or you can use up some of that extra cranberry sauce in Cooking Light’s recipe for cranberry sweet potato casserole.

What are you favorite Thanksgiving side dish recipes and which ones will you be making on Thursday?
