Goldie Hawn Floored By Kate Hudson’s Moving Birthday Tribute
Goldie Hawn celebrated her 70th birthday recently and her daughter, actress Kate Hudson, could not stop gushing over her in an adoring birthday post that said what so many of Hawn’s fans have felt through many years. This was more than a single picture of mother and daughter, but an endearing video that touches the hearts of all who see it.

While many of Goldie Hawn’s fans would have liked to help the actress celebrate her birthday in person, Kate Hudson has given fans the next best thing by sharing a video of 70-year-old Hawn’s birthday celebration on Instagram. The video is set to the music of Ellie Goulding’s “Army,” and shows mother and daughter celebrating Goldie’s special day aboard an airplane decked out with birthday banners and cupcakes, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The video is captioned with a poem written by Hudson, intended to celebrate her mother, and show Kate’s appreciation for Goldie in the most loving of ways. The poem, an ode to Goldie Hawn’s life, talks of the actress as though she was an angel sent back to earth to spread happiness, a sentiment with which many of Hawn’s fans would agree.
The poem goes on to encompass Goldie’s search for contentment and joy, throughout the years, making no mention of the hard times or of Hawn’s first husband and Kate’s father, Bill Hudson. Instead, the testament to Ms. Hawn focuses on the joyful life she has found with Kurt Russell and Goldie’s own acting career.
“Find your joy she says, what brings you joy// Live fearlessly facing the sun// Bath gently under the moon// Love all around you// Laugh till you cry// Cry till you laugh// We live till we die// She says live with all your might! Happy 70th Mama I LOVE YOU.”
Those ending words from Ms. Hudson’s birthday poem to her mother seem to echo the advice passed from mother to daughter, now, coming full circle, have again been passed from daughter to mother.
Kurt Russell Gives Goldie Hawn The Ultimate Birthday Present: A Wedding!
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together for nearly 30 years and it seems they’re ready to make this long-lasting relationship official with a very special wedding ceremony. Daily Mail reports that Hawn and Russell are planning to get married early in the new year at their ranch, just outside of Aspen, Colorado.
Rumors suggest that the wedding will have a wild west theme.
“It’s going to be cowboy hats, horses and rock ‘n’ roll,” a source close to the couple said. “All their relatives are thrilled that they have at last decided to tie the knot.”
Goldie and Kurt met early in 1968, but didn’t begin dating until 1983, when they were cast together in Swing Shift. Russell and Hawn share one son together, 29-year-old Wyatt Russell. Additionally, Kurt has taken on the role of step-father to Goldie’s children from her previous marriage to Bill Hudson.
Previously, Ms. Hawn has said that a lasting relationship has less to do with marriage and more to do with communication and compatibility, adding that intention is the key to any successful relationship.
“It’s also about not losing yourself in each other,” Ms. Hawn said. “Being together, two pillars holding up the house and the roof, and being different, not having to agree on everything, learning how to deal with not agreeing. Everything’s a choice.”
Goldie Hawn has retired from acting with her most recent feature film appearance having been in 2002’s The Banger Sisters.
Kurt Russell recently starred alongside Sean Young and Patrick Wilson in Bone Tomahawk, which hit theaters on October 23.
