Jessa Duggar, Jill, And Anna Open Up About Josh Duggar Scandals On New TLC Show: Watch The Dramatic Clips Here! [Video]

Jessa Duggar’s sister-in-law, Anna Duggar, finally opened up about her marriage to Josh Duggar in a clip from Jill & Jessa: Counting On. The show, which stars Jessa Duggar and her sister, Jill, begins airing December 13.

According to E! News, Anna has largely stayed out of the public eye, and has not given any statements, after reports surfaced that her husband, Josh Duggar, molested several teenage girls. When the revelations broke, Anna was pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, and joyously sharing the experience with her sister-in-law, Jessa.

In her on-screen interview, Anna reveals that she knew about his history long before marrying Duggar — and since Josh had “had humbled himself before God” and ” had received the help needed to change the direction of his life and do what is right,” Anna did not see him as the monster the media made him out to be.

In Jill & Jessa: Counting On, Anna also revealed that while she knew Josh made mistakes as a teenager, she did not know about his infidelities, as she tearfully confesses in the show, reports E! News.

“It was heartbreaking to hear what had happened,” Duggar confides to viewers in a new clip for Jill & Jessa: Counting On, which TLC released on Friday. The confession is her first since the infidelity scandals involving Josh Duggar broke last August, when it was revealed that Duggar had two accounts with the infidelity site, Ashley Madison.

In the clip, Jill and Jessa tell viewers that they were shocked, and Jill “cried a lot of tears” after she learned Josh had cheated on her sister-in-law. “My first thoughts were for Anna,” Jill confesses in the promo for Jill & Jessa: Counting On.

Jessa Duggar echoes her sister’s thoughts, explaining “[s]omebody who you love… how could this happen?”

After the scandals broke, TLC summarily cancelled 19 Kids & Counting after sponsors immediately pulled their ads from the show. The loss of the show also meant a loss of revenue not just for the Duggar family, but for the network as well, since 19 Kids And Counting was hugely popular.

To regain some lost traction, TLC compromised by airing a three-part episode that followed Jill and Jessa Duggar, and largely focuses on Jessa and her newborn son and scary home birth, as well as Jill and her missionary work in Central America. Jill & Jessa: Counting On, which has Duggar fans waiting with bated breath for insights into Josh and Anna’s marriage, is seen as a band-aid for TLC after losing 19 Kids & Counting.

If ratings for Jill & Jessa: Counting On are high enough, and sponsors don’t object, it’s possible Jessa Duggar, who has largely stayed out of negative media spotlight, might return to the cable television airwaves.

In a final scene of the promo, Jessa tells audiences that the Duggar family is staying strong and “[w]e’re getting through.”

In Jill & Jessa: Counting On,Jessa also touches on the molestation scandal, and how it affected her joyfulness during the last days of her pregnancy, according to Us magazine. In an on-air confession, Jessa reveals that she was “devastated” the scandal broke, especially since she was one of Josh’s victims.

“Here I am, most joyful time in my life — newlywed, baby on the way, and then …,” Jessa recalls, explaining that “we couldn’t believe it. You have to wonder, like, ‘How did this happen?’ ”

Apart from her on-camera confession, Jessa has largely stayed quiet about Josh and his various scandals, preferring to focus, instead, on her new baby, Spurgeon Elliot. Like any new parent, Jessa Duggar has shared many photos of the adorable infant over Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of her private life as a new mother.

Jill & Jessa: Counting On begins airing December 13 at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
