‘Walking Dead’: If You Want To Believe Glenn Is Alive, Watch This

Walking Dead has drawn a huge fan base for the past six years, and while ratings have taken a slight dip, the show is still going strong at 14.6 million viewers for the Season 6 premier, the New York Post reports. But many wonder what The Walking Dead has in store for the rest of season 6 and beyond, starting with the fate of the character Glenn, played by Steven Yeun.

According to Deadline, show creators have been toying with Walking Dead fans for two weeks now, not making it clear whether or not Glenn is dead. The scene in question can be seen here.

There are also many theories as to how Glenn survives.

Producer Scott Gimple won’t say more than the fact that fans will see Glenn at some point and in some form.

“In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story to help complete the story.”

Daily Mail reports that Scott Gimple more recently said fans will find out Glenn’s fate soon.

“You will be learning the answer to that question as you watch. If I were to answer it now, I would wind up revealing all sorts of stuff from different directions. The lame way of saying it is: You’ll have to see.”

Potential Spoiler Alert

What is clear is that if Glenn has died in the show, it is not the same way he dies in the comic books. In addition, rumor has it that there is another big Walking Dead tragedy coming. Huffington Post reports that another character will face a nasty injury: Carl.

In the books, Carl is shot in the eye by Douglas Monroe, which is the part of Deanna in the show, but there is speculation that Carl will really be shot by Ron, since they have come to blows already. No one really knows what is planned for the show, but a blurry image of Chandler Riggs on the Walking Dead set with an eye bandage was posted on Facebook. If it’s legit, then it sends a message.

There is also big news about a future character that has now been cast. In the books there is a character named Negan who is the incredibly violent and brutal leader of a group called the Saviors. He will be coming onto the show and will be played by Jeffery Dean Morgan, known from Extant and The Good Wife.

According to Forbes, Negan is way worse than the Governor ever dreamed of being.

“In the comic, Negan is a villain so brutal, he makes The Governor look about as threatening as Eugene.”

Daily Mail also reports that Negan will make his debut appearance in the Season 6 finale and become a regular character in Season 7. Andrew Lincoln revealed back in February that he thought Negan would come onto the scene soon.

“I would be very surprised if we don’t see Negan on the horizon in the not-too-distant future. It’s the medieval part of The Walking Dead comic, where you realize that there are these isolated communities but don’t really know other ones exist. But they’re all building and forming themselves with their own image. And then there’s a clash of those communities. That, to me, is really interesting and when it gets really exciting with all the action.”

Fans will just have to stay tuned to find out for sure who is leaving and joining the show and when. There is no telling what the Walking Dead creators will do and the comic books are not a true guide to what will happen in the show. After all, show creators want to keep fans on their toes and tuning in each week.
