‘Tensions’ Run High On Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’

Jimmy Fallon will not only get fans laughing on The Tonight Show, he will now be able to spread his mirth at the Universal Studios theme park. There will be a new ride to replace the Twister and it will be called Ride Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Time reports that Jimmy Fallon announced his new ride last week on The Tonight Show, comparing the ride to the Harry Potter ride, but without Harry or Hogwarts.

“It’s scary, it’s fun, it’s exciting. Do you know the Harry Potter rides? It’s like that, except instead of Harry Potter, it’s me. Instead of Hogwarts, it’s New York City.”

On the Universal Orlando Resort blog, Jason Surrell, creative director for Universal Creative, said that Jimmy Fallon was an inspiration when creating the ride.

“I can tell you our team found inspiration in the outrageous celebrity races that have become one of the most popular segments of Jimmy’s Tonight Show. The source material already features a wild and crazy ride almost every week! And since Universal Studios Florida has long been famous for placing guests in the middle of their favorite movies and TV shows, we thought it was a perfect fit.”

According to the Orlando Sentinel, it has been a lengthy and involved process digitizing the real Jimmy Fallon so that he will appear in the ride, driving – in the virtual sense – guests through New York City in a car.

Jimmy Fallon took to Instagram and Twitter to show a little of the process.

Black suit, dots, and crazy fake vehicle aside, Jimmy Fallon will be a great New York City guide. You can’t get lost with Jimmy on board.

Jimmy Fallon has other things to do besides guide Universal’s guests through New York City. He recently got together with Martin Short to reminisce about the 90s, when the dynamic comedy duo teamed up with Steve Martin to create a soap called Tensions. As reported by Us Magazine, they thought the show was too tense.

“I remember the producers wanted to make every single moment as tense as possible. I think they might’ve gone too far, they made it too tense for no reason.”

Jimmy Fallon and Martin Short did more than just reminisce; they relived their 90s soap as only Jimmy Fallon and Martin Short can. Steve Martin even dropped in for a cameo! Jimmy Fallon showed a clip of Tensions on The Tonight Show.

Well, okay, the clip wasn’t made in the 90s, it made that night; but, it was oh so funny watching them slap each other silly.

What else did Martin Short get up to when he was interviewed by Jimmy Fallon? Salon reports he roasted everyone from Jimmy Fallon himself to Donald Trump to Bernie Sanders. Short talked about how Donald Trump running for president was akin to Biff Henderson from Back to the Future running for president. Bernie Sanders, it seems, got nailed for his age.

“At his age the only time he doesn’t have to pee is when he’s peeing.”

Steve Martin had no qualms about joining in on the roast.

“He’s just the palest. He’s like a coloring book that hasn’t been colored yet.”

It seems that soon fans will be able to see Jimmy Fallon wherever they go, whether it’s Universal Studios, New York City, or The Tonight Show on NBC. But, no matter how it happens, Jimmy always has his guests and fans laughing with his crazy antics, games, and skits.
