Joey Feek Of Joey And Rory Cancer Update: Rory Shares Heartwarming Photo Of Joey And Indiana

Joey Feek of the country music duo Joey and Rory is still as beautiful as ever. Despite losing her hair and being so weak she can barely walk without assistance, the country music singer still manages to keep a smile on her face.

Joey’s duet partner and husband, Rory Feek, shared a heartwarming photo of Joey and their 21-month-old daughter Indiana (“Indy” for short) on Facebook on Thursday. In the photo, Joey can be seen sitting in her hospital bed with little Indy on her lap. Joey and Indiana both have smiles on their faces that appear to radiate through the room as they wear hand-sewn red and white chef hats.

Rory captioned the photo, “The mail lady delivered big smiles to us today…. hand-sewn hats, made with love.”

“What an uplifter this photo is today!! Such beautiful smiles on everyone – and the hats…VERY becoming – and Joey – I stil lift you and Rory and baby Indy in prayer – every night,” Facebook user Sara-Elisebeth Finley commented on the adorable photo.

“You all have the most contagious smiles. I love your hats. Such a beautiful precious family. Continued prayers for a miracle,” Joey and Rory fan Brenda Murphree Johnson added.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Joey Feek was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year, three months after the birth of Indiana. After undergoing a radical hysterectomy, radiation, and chemotherapy, Joey thought she had won the battle. However, in mid-October, Joey’s doctors made a grim discovery. Her cancer had not only returned, but it had also spread to her colon. Rather than going through more rounds of radiation and chemo, which would only buy her time, Joey decided to return home, in the care of hospice, to live out the remainder of her life with her family.

Since then, Rory has been documenting Joey’s battle with cancer on his blog titled “This Life I Live.” Most recently, Feek shared a post titled “A Bus Full of Joy,” where he discussed her bus driver, Russell, and how important he has been to their family since they made it big in 2008 by winning the CMT singing competition Can You Duet.

In the same post, Rory said Joey is hoping to be able to hang on long enough to be able to spend Christmas with her family and celebrate Indiana’s second birthday in February.

“Her friends gathered around her on the couch and she told them of her hope that she might be able to still be here for Christmas, or for Indiana’s second birthday in February,” Feek wrote.

“Then we all held hands and said a prayer, and put our hands together with Joey’s.

“In that moment, I knew, that if there was a way – if Russell’s bus could have been big enough – there would be thousands upon thousands of people on the bus trip up to see her… their hands around hers for the picture. All lifting her up, loving her.”

On Wednesday, Rory Feek took to Facebook to share an important milestone in his daughter’s life. He revealed to their fans that Indiana was now 21-months-old.

“Our little Indiana is 21 months old today. We’re going to sleep tonight remembering the morning we welcomed her into the world. We had no idea when we woke up that day what a gift God was about to give us…” Feek captioned a video of Indy’s flawless birth.
