Michael Lohan Suffers Possible Heart Attack During Visitation With Children

Michael Lohan suffered a possible heart attack at a Florida Department of Children and Families facility, where he was enjoying supervised visitation with his children. According to reports, the incident occurred just hours before he was scheduled to attend a custody hearing.

As reported by TMZ, Michael became concerned when he “began to sweat profusely and experience chest pains.” Although his mother was called to bring him his heart medication, Michael was rushed to the hospital before she arrived at the DCF facility.

Although his current condition is unclear, doctors are reportedly assessing whether he indeed suffered a heart attack.

In recent weeks, Michael Lohan and his estranged wife, Kate Major, lost custody of their two young children amid allegations of abuse.

According to reports, the former couple had an “extreme argument” in the presence of their 2-year-old and 10-month-old sons. Although the incident occurred in early October, the Florida Department of Children and Families was not made aware of the situation until several weeks later.

On October 28, social workers removed Landon and Logan from Kate Major’s Boca Raton apartment and placed them in them in temporary foster care. The children were later released into the custody of Michael’s mother, Marilyn.

During a subsequent hearing, Marilyn was granted temporary guardianship of the young boys, and Michael Lohan and Kate Major were ordered to attend anger management counseling.

Although Lohan and Major were granted visitation rights, the supervised visits must take place at a DCF facility. During his most recent visit with his children, Lohan suffered a possible heart attack and was rushed to a local hospital. It is unclear whether a custody hearing, which was scheduled for the same day, proceeded in his absence.

A native of New York City, Michael Lohan is best known as the father of actress Lindsay Lohan. Although they have both seen great success in their respective careers, the father and daughter’s lives have been plagued with addiction and legal issues.

As reported by Hollyscoop, Michael was arrested and charged with insider trading and contempt of court in 1990. He was subsequently sentenced to three years in jail. Although he was released in 1993, he was placed on probation for a period of five years.

As a condition of his probation, Michael was prohibited from leaving the state without prior permission. However, he violated the rule in 1997 when he traveled to California to see Lindsay. As a result, he was charged with a probation violation and sentenced to serve another year in jail.

In 2004, Michael Lohan was arrested in a serious of unrelated incidents and charged with assault, attempted assault, driving under the influence, and failing to pay a hotel bill that exceeded $3,500. He subsequently served two years and six months in prison.

As the arrests and prison time were a strain on their marriage, Michael and Lindsay’s mother Dina were divorced in 2005.

Although he was released in 2007, Michael was arrested in numerous incidents over the next eight years, including allegations of domestic violence against Kate Major in 2011. Two years later, the estranged couple had an “extreme argument,” which may have cost them custody of their two young children.

Unfortunately, the animosity between Michael and Kate continued after the children were removed from their custody. As reported by Page Six, both parties have accused the other of abuse in the media and in court.

It is unclear who is at fault in the devastating situation. However, the DCF would like Michael Lohan and Kate Major to address their addictions and anger before they will consider returning Landon and Logan to either of their parents.
