Josh Duggar Sued By Porn Star For Assault — And The Implications Are Huge

Former reality TV star — and now scandal magnet — Josh Duggar is being sued by the same porn actress he was busted having an affair with. Danica Dillon, whose real name is Ashley Stamm-Northup, filed a lawsuit against the former 19 Kids And Counting star on Tuesday.

According to court documents obtained by People and Us Weekly, Duggar allegedly assaulted the former porn star “to the point of causing her physical and emotional injuries.”

Danica Dillon previously admitted to In Touch magazine during an exclusive interview that she’d had an affair with Josh Duggar. However, her description of the two sexual encounters suggests that they were truly traumatic experiences.

Dillan said she first met Duggar back in March when she was working at the Gold Club in Philadelphia.

“[Josh Duggar] walked into the Gold Club like a normal patron and said he’d been a fan for a long time and has watched my career grow — he even said from before my boob job until recently — and that he loved watching my very first scene on [an adult website].”

Duggar later paid Dillon $600 for a private dance, and then $1,500 more for sexual favors. She accepted the cash, but said she had no idea how “terrifying” sex with Josh would be. The married mother of two said the sex acts were so deeply and emotionally disturbing, she’s presently in therapy to cope with what happened.

“He was manhandling me, basically tossing me around like I was a rag doll… It was very traumatic. I’ve had rough sex before, but this was terrifying.”

Months later, Danica sued Josh with the hope he’ll be held accountable for his violent acts toward her. She wants Duggar to cough up $500,000 for emotional and physical damages.

Josh Duggar is still in a faith-based rehab program, so it will likely be some time before the courtroom drama plays out. Marc J. Frumer, Dillon’s attorney, told People he imagines things will be resolved in anywhere from nine to 18 months, after Duggar wraps up his rehab. This is, of course, assuming the matter isn’t quietly settled out of court.

Josh Duggar departed for the rehab program in August, almost immediately after being exposed as a member of the cheating site, Ashley Madison. It was during the same window of time as the Ashley Madison scandal that Danica’s interview was released, declaring Josh cheated with her on his wife, Anna Duggar.

Before these scandals, the Duggar family was caught in the midst of a major shake-up when In Touch magazine first reported that Josh had previously molested multiple young girls — most of whom were his own sisters. The subsequent backlash put the Duggar clan’s show 19 Kids And Counting off the air. TLC did create a spin-off featuring Jill and Jessa Duggar.

As for Josh Duggar, he’s been all but excommunicated from the Duggar family brand, as the Duggars struggle to maintain a grip on the reality TV wealth that was threatened by his series of scandals. Josh being sued by a porn star for assault is just one more dark mark against the family, making it harder and harder to justify their previous “squeaky clean” image.

Although Josh Duggar is being sued rather than charged with a crime, there are huge implications for this case. Frumer told In Touch that should Josh take the stand in his defense, there’s no telling what he might be asked.

“The defendant may be subject to [having to talk about] his prior bad [or] sexually abusive acts at trial. They are all relevant if he takes the stand.”

That means Josh Duggar could be asked about anything from which sisters he touched inappropriately to if he’s committed any acts of sexual molestation recently. Josh could also be asked if he’s had any additional sexual affairs that are not already public knowledge.

Other Duggar family members could be called to testify and tell what they know, including his parents. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar came under fire for working hard to cover up Josh’s molestations. If they swept additional information under the rug, those secrets could also come out in court.

Should any of Duggars lie on the stand, there could be severe criminal ramifications that go beyond merely having one’s TV show canceled.

Some suggest that while Josh Duggar is hardly a sympathetic character, Danica Dillon’s case could run into trouble because of her porn star past and the fact that both encounters, however rough, were consensual. Her lawyer fired back, saying, “While sex may be consensual, an assault and battery is clearly beyond the scope of any consent.”
