Jessa Duggar’s New TLC Show To Air In December, Promises Lots Of Drama [Video]

The countdown to Jill & Jessa: Counting On has begun! The series will focus on Jessa and Jill Duggar as they navigate through parenthood and their marriages. Jill & Jessa: Counting On is set to replace 19 Kids and Counting, which was abruptly cancelled by TLC when reports surfaced that reality star Josh Duggar molested five teenage girls, including both Jessa Duggar and her sister, Jill.

According to Examiner, when 19 Kids and Counting was cancelled, the Duggar family took a hit of over $25 million as they lost book deals, endorsements, and speaking engagements after the media learned about their family secret. Examiner reports that the Duggar family earned $25,000 to $45,000 per episode of 19 Kids and Counting.

Sources reveal that the Duggar family is hoping that Jill & Jessa: Counting On will replace some of that lost income.

Hollywood Take also reports that because 19 Kids and Counting was cancelled, the Duggar clan lost millions in potential income, and are now worth about $3.5 million. Presumably, deals and endorsements from Jill & Jessa: Counting On will help boost their net worth.

Jill & Jessa: Counting On will begin airing this December, and TLC promises the episodes will follow Jessa in the last months of her pregnancy and plenty of footage of her new baby boy, Spurgeon Elliot, reports Examiner. Fans are also hoping the series reveals video of Jessa Duggar and her scary home birth, which resulted in an ambulance ride to the hospital.

Following the drama of her home delivery, both Jessa Duggar and her son are doing well.

To promote the new TLC series, and to show Duggar fans a glimpse into their lives, both Jill and Jessa Duggar have been showing off their babies on social media. Fans are naturally curious about their children after the delivery drama that both Jill and Jessa endured.

Us magazine reports that Jill recently shared videos of her son, Israel, over Instagram, capturing her son crawling on the floor, smiling, and kicking his feet as he plays with a marker. In her second video, Duggar shows the 7-month-old boy trying to climb a chair.

Jill and Jessa Duggar, who were both molested by their brother Josh as teenagers, have proven to be close friends. In fact, Jill was first to congratulate Jessa after her son was born, posting on Instagram that “Derick, Israel and I are so excited for you and Benji!”

Jill Duggar is currently in Central America with her husband as they perform missionary work. In her congratulations, the reality star revealed that she was able to “be a part of the birth from Central America” and that it was “such a joy.” Duggar also reassured Jessa that she was “a champ” and that Jill “felt those contractions with you.”

Just as Jill & Jessa: Counting On will tell the story of both mothers, Jill Duggar warmly wrote to her sister that she is “so excited to both be on this motherhood journey together!” according to Us magazine.

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald revealed the name of their baby, Spurgeon Elliot Seewald, over Instagram on November 11. They also explained the unusual nickname, which fans were reportedly confusing with the sturgeon, a type of fish. In their video, Jessa and Ben explained that Spurgeon was a “preacher who lived back in the 19th century and he had a big impact on our lives,” reports Us.

Just like her sister, Jessa has been sharing photos of the baby over social media as a way to promote the new TLC series. On November 17, Jessa Duggar posted a photo of Spurgeon, whose nickname is Quincy, over social media, writing “[b]ig yawn” as the newborn appeared ready for a nap.

Jill & Jessa: Counting On will begin airing in December on TLC.
