Charlie Hunnam News: ‘Ghost Rider,’ ‘Pacific Rim’ Sequel, More ‘Sons Of Anarchy’

Charlie Hunnam has portrayed many characters on the big and small screens, but a Ghost Rider is not one of them. However, according to MoviePilot, Hunnam would be perfect for the part. Specifically, Charlie Hunnam has been groomed for the part of Ghost Rider because of his role as Jax Teller in Sons of Anarchy, and apparently, Jax Teller is like a carbon copy of Johnny Blaze.

“Hunnam’s Jax looks like a reflection and damn near carbon copy of Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider.”

While Charlie Hunnam might not star in a Ghost Rider movie anytime soon, or ever, he did have some fun in the hit Halloween movie Crimson Peak.

In fact, it is his role in Crimson Peak, Dr. Alan McMichael, that he chose over the role of Christian in Fifty Shades of Grey. Starring alongside Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston, InStyle reports that costume designer Kate Hawley had trouble fitting him into a costume from the era in which the movie takes place. Hunnam had to actually change the shape of his body to fit the costume.

“Men of that era are slimmer and less built up than men today so he had to reshape his body slightly to make it more authentic to the period. He wasn’t doing modern workouts with a lot of heavy weightlifting. He did different physical moves to reshape himself so he didn’t come in with that V-shape torso.”

What else are Charlie Hunnam and his muscles up to these days? Apparently, not A Prayer Before Dawn, in which Hunnam was originally cast as Billy Moore. According to Screen Daily, Hunnam has now been replaced in the role by Joe Cole, known for his work in Green Room, Peaky Blinders, and Secret in Their Eyes.

So what is Charlie Hunnam up to? Fashion & Style reveals he will be starring in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur reboot Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur alongside Astrid Berges-Frisbey, who will play the part of Guinevere.

Entertainment Weekly reported earlier in the year that Hunnam says his version of the legendary king will be a bit different and easier to relate to than the classic version.

“He’s a little bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor. He’s a hustler. He’s a street kid. There’s definitely a harder edge to him than people would imagine. It’s sort of classic Guy Ritchie stuff.”

Hunnam posted a pic on Instagram that hints at the King Arthur set.

Of course, Charlie Hunnam also has The Lost City of Z due out in 2016, and a sequel to Pacific Rim called Pacific Rim: Maelstrom has been announced. And then he has a relationship with jewelry designer Morganna McNelis, which is sure to keep him busy. Just Jared reported that McNelis recently spoke with Taylor Magazine about her designs, but also spoke about what has made her relationship with Charlie Hunnam so successful for the past eight years.

“I think the key to maintaining a good balance is creating a safe space within the relationship for both partners in which to grow and evolve. It’s very important to be present and participate in each other’s experiences so that falling in love doesn’t happen just once, it continues to happen over and over.”

Well said, Morganna! Charlie Hunnam has a great partner to see him through his numerous projects. Of course, no one will ever forget the character Jax Teller, which Hunnam made famous, or the show Sons of Anarchy, which will be a ride attraction in 20th Century Fox’s new theme park, due to open in Dubai in 2018.
