Busta Rhymes: Surveillance Shows Rapper Went Into Rage During Gym Incident

Rapper Busta Rhymes, accused of throwing a Lean Body chocolate protein shake on a gym employee in August, apparently did a lot more than that, at least according to a surveillance video recently obtained.

Page Six reports that not only did Busta Rhymes, 43, throw a shake on gym employee Ole Hernandez, a staffer at the Steel Gym off of W 23rd Street in New York, but he also splashed him with water and attempted to carry out the assault even further before being stopped. When Hernandez splashed him back, the video depicts Busta knocking over what appears to be a cash register as he lunges towards the employee.

Hernandez spoke out on the incident for the time this week since it happened, revealing the words that Busta allegedly screamed at him, which isn’t heard on the silent surveillance camera. Hernandez said the squabble began a few days prior to the actual incident, when he told the rapper’s cameraman he wasn’t allowed to record in the gym. Insulted by the employee, Busta allegedly told Hernandez the following.

“You don’t know who I am! I’m Busta Rhymes! I’m the real n–ga! You’re a f—–g f—-t, you are a p–sy! You are a Mexican crossing the border to come to this country, I will f–k you up.”

The gym’s owner, Ken Hunt, was furious over the rapper’s remarks, which were reportedly said in front of other gym members who are gay or black. Consequently, when Busta returned to the gym a few days later, Hernandez informed him he was not allowed to enter without first speaking to Hunt.

The Higher Learning actor lost his temper and splashed on water on Hernandez, but the gym staffer returned the favor and threw water back. Infuriated, Busta grabbed the protein shake and hurled it at Hernandez hitting him in the head.

One of Busta’s security guards who accompanied him to the gym that day allegedly assaulted Hernandez off-camera by pushing him into an office door so severely that the door broke. Hernandez later went to the emergency room for head injuries. In August, the New York Police Department reported that the 33-year-old Hernandez had a a “contusion and scratches/marks to the back of his head.”

Despite the attack, Busta was able to make a plea deal after being arrested and charged with felony assault. He pleaded guilty to 2nd degree harassment, a misdemeanor, and agreed to sign up for anger management classes.

Hernandez, who insists he has no clue who the rapper is, is furious that Busta received a “slap on the wrist” for assaulting him.

“I don’t even know who he is. I am a Mexican, I like mariachi. I don’t like rap.”

Although the surveillance video clearly shows an angry Busta Rhymes in a dispute with Hernandez, the rapper completely denied any knowledge of the incident in September when questioned by reporters outside of the HSBC bank in Beverly Hills.

“I don’t know s**t about that, man. Nah, man, I have absolutely no clue. You see, I’m just coming from making a nice, sexy deposit in the bank and uh, in the beautiful geographical landscape that we all know of as Los Angeles. I don’t know what that sh**t is that you was talking about.”

Meanwhile, Busta Rhymes continues on with his music career, attempting to put the incident behind him. He released his latest track, “Master Race,” featuring Pharrell Williams, in September.
