Bindi Irwin And Derek Hough Talk ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Finale, Experience Together

Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough had another great night during the Season 21 semi-finals on Dancing with the Stars. Though they were put into the jeopardy category at the end of the Week 10 show, nobody was eliminated, and they will go on to dance in the finals next week. What did Bindi and Derek have to share after the show? What do they have planned so far for their last dances?

Many DWTS fans would agree that Derek Hough and Bindi Irwin have been a fun couple to watch throughout Season 21. During their post-show media interviews, Bindi and Derek talked about all the fun they have together and how Irwin is doing the show not only to make her dad proud but also to help empower people and lead them to be strong and surround themselves with love.

The message of fun, strength, and determination has certainly come through in all of Derek and Bindi’s dances this season, but now they are facing the finale. What dances will they be doing as this season of DWTS wraps up? Derek shared via one of the post-show interviews that the pros weren’t even entirely certain how many dances they are doing or what music they will use.

Of course, the Season 21 finale will include a freestyle dance, and it is said that the four remaining couples will also do individual dances and a Judge’s Choice dance during Monday’s show. The individual dance is supposed to be a style new to each couple, while the Judge’s Choice dance gives each judge a chance to pick a dance from earlier in the season for the pair to do once again.

In addition, there is usually some kind of instant dance or fusion dance to tackle in the second night of the finals. More details should emerge when ABC puts out their press release for finale week. A lot of “Team Crikey” fans at PureDWTS are buzzing about the idea that Bindi and Derek could be doing the paso doble as one of their dances Monday night, though so far nothing on that front has been confirmed quite yet.

The freestyle is always one of the most highly-anticipated dances of the season, and Derek is already planning for his with Bindi. However, he doesn’t seem to be sharing any detailed hints about his plan. Hough shared with Glamour that for him, he thinks it is important to focus on the journey of his partner, not the big production opportunity. Viewers have seen him go this type of route in previous seasons as well, with Kellie Pickler, for example, and it is easy to see why it fits for Bindi too.

Derek says that the freestyle with Bindi will be about her and her journey, about her moment, and what is the right opportunity for her to finish the show. He says it isn’t about him, a trap that some other pros have been known to fall into at times, and DWTS fans can imagine that this will be an emotional and powerful freestyle.

Just who will win Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars? Some Team Crikey fans are panicking over seeing Bindi and Derek in jeopardy at the end of the semi-finals alongside Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess. However, Derek made it clear via post-show interviews that he wasn’t too worried about supposedly having been in jeopardy.

Many fans suspect that this team wasn’t actually at risk of going home, that either the wording was a bit of a fib or that Nick and Sharna are the ones who were at risk. Regardless of that, Bindi and Derek’s fans will have to make sure they don’t take anything for granted come Monday night’s show. Given the scores handed out to the various pairs Monday night, nobody is guaranteed to be safe, as another couple will surely be eliminated Monday night, with an early elimination likely coming at the beginning of Tuesday’s show as well.

More Dancing with the Stars spoilers will emerge as the finale draws near, and Team Crikey fans can’t wait to hear more. Will Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough take home the Season 21 DWTS Mirror Ball Trophy, or will it go to Nick Carter, Alek Skarlatos, or Carlos PenaVega instead?
