Christie Brinkley is finally sharing her secrets to staying slim and sexy at 61, from Botox to plastic surgery to diet. And while she’s had star-studded relationships in the past (hello, John Mellencamp and Billy Joel), Christie is focusing on giving her fans a glimpse into her supermodel beauty regime rather than her romance life.

Brinkley confessed that she has used Botox, while adding that she’s now more cautious of the injection site, reported the Express.

When Botox was injected into her forehead, it failed to give her the subtly younger looks for which Christie had hoped, says the 61-year-old supermodel and former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue superstar.

“Having Botox injected into my forehead was a disaster,” proclaimed Brinkley. “Beware doctors who use too much, as this can cause eyebrows to droop (which is what happened to me) or lift too much, which creates a surprised look.”

However, Christie also decided to give Botox another try, but in her neck rather than her forehead, which the supermodel says “worked wonders.” Brinkley used fillers, as well, but in extremely small amounts for a forehead “indentation.” However, cautions the 61-year-old, beware of overdoing fillers.

“You must use a very small amount because over-filling removes contours and gives you a flat face,” added Christie.

Brinkley also revealed that she has had laser treatment, used minoxidil (a treatment to thicken the hair), and had non-surgical lifting procedures. But apparently, the hair-thickening treatment wasn’t enough, because Christie shared that she’s shifted to hair extensions.

“I use mine at the gym, on rainy days, and after a day at the beach,” Brinkley revealed of her remedy for thinning hair due to having three children.

Other celebrities who have used Botox include Nicole Kidman, Kim Kardashian, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

As for that diet for staying slim at 61, Christie revealed that she has stayed true to her vegan diet and lifestyle for most of her life, reported the Daily Mail.

To turn 61 into the new 41, Brinkley revealed that she initially became a vegetarian when she was 13, and gradually shifted to a primarily plant-based food plan. Now, with a few exceptions, Christie is usually 100 percent vegan.

“Life is too short to not have oysters and champagne sometimes,” theorized Brinkley.

Being the mom of three also helps her stay young, says Christie. Sailor Brinkley-Cook, who is 16, hopes to become a model just like Christie. Her other children include Alexa Ray Joel, 28, and Jack Brinkley-Cook, 19.

“Because I’m an older mom, I have a responsibility to my kids as well as myself. I want to be there for them,”said Christie.

Brinkley told Harper’s Bazaar that she goes through diet phases, and currently sometimes includes carefully chosen and measured amounts of dairy in the form of sheep’s milk and goat’s milk while avoiding meat, fish, and poultry.

“I haven’t touched a piece of meat since I read a graphic description of Chicago’s slaughterhouses when I was 12,” revealed Christie.

Brinkley does utilize a private chef who is specifically skilled in cooking healthy meals, but the supermodel also makes some of her own vegan and vegetarian creations.

Breakfast usually consists of cappuccino that Christie whips up herself, complete with a foam drawing. She eats yogurt made from sheep’s milk combined with organic fruit such as blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Her protein additions include walnuts, and Brinkley adds in raw oatmeal and chia seeds.

For lunch, Christie enjoys a salad topped with beans or grains, while dinner varies, such as a sweet potato, salad, brown rice with lentils, colorful roasted peppers, and fennel. However, Brinkley does dine out sometimes, choosing entrees such as meat-free stuffed mushrooms. With dinner, the supermodel likes to sip red wine.

“In the afternoon my chef prepares fresh juice with kale, lime juice, orange juice, and avocado, or I snack on my homemade pumpkin-seed mix made with Himalayan salt, walnuts, Brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, and dried raisins,” added Christie. “[My splurge is] a piece of a Gnosis Pom Açai raw chocolate bar every day.”

As for Brinkley’s romantic life, the Inquisitr reported that Christie and John Mellencamp recently soared to the top of the hot new couples alert list.

Is Brinkley considering adding to her list of husbands? Thus far, Christie has tied the knot with (and divorced) Peter Cook, Billy Joel, and Richard Taubman.
