Tom Brady Talks Gisele Bundchen Super Bowl Comments

When Tom Brady and the New England Patriots lost the Super Bowl to the New York Giants for the second time in four years the quarterback’s wife Gisele Bundchen went on the offensive, criticizing Wes Welker and the rest of the Patriots receiving corp. for not living up to their potential. Gisele’s comments made sports headlines because of an unwritten rule in which players wives are not supposed to criticize players.

After Gisele made those comments players were not happy with her and apparently either was Tom Brady. On Friday Tom Currant wrote about a story told to him by Bay Area reporter Matt Maiocco. Apparently Brady was talking to a panel several months ago when he said:

“Just before she goes to bed, she says, ‘Yeah, people were following me and I just said something I shouldn’t have said'” to which Tom Brady replied “I don’t care really what you said. Just go to bed.'”

Apparently the next morning Tom Brady decided he did want to know why Gisele made her comment. According to Brady:

“I woke up the next morning, I tapped her on the shoulder [and asked], ‘Why did you say that?’ She was talking about the best player on our team, Wes Welker, yeah. That was my most recent memory.”

The comment at the time drew angry responses for New England Patriots fans for several days however both wide receiver Wes Welker who was attacked by Gisele along with the rest of the wide receiver corp. appear to have buried the hatchet.
