‘RHOA’ Kandi Burruss Defends DonJuan Calling Out Phaedra Parks

Kandi Burruss defended her friend and manager DonJuan after he received a lot of criticism for what he said about her other friend and co-star Phaedra Parks. On Sunday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi and Phaedra had a heart-to-heart talk about the demise of their friendship, which viewers saw happen on the previous season. By the end of the talk, both women were in tears and agreed to move forward from the drama. Yet DonJuan, who walked in the room during the talk and listened to it, wasn’t convinced. He later told Kandi that Phaedra was being fake.

As the episode aired, Kandi posted a photo of herself and DonJuan that was taken during her and Todd Tucker’s baby shower, which happened on Saturday. Kandi acknowledged that viewers give a lot of feedback whenever DonJuan appears on the show and gives his honest opinions on things. For those who say that DonJuan shouldn’t disrespect Kandi’s friends and family because he’s Kandi’s employee, Kandi pointed out that DonJuan is not just an employee but also a good friend who is like a family member to her. Kandi added that DonJuan has had her back for over a decade.

DonJuan also defended himself. DonJuan posted a photo of himself with Kandi at her baby shower over the weekend. He wrote that Kandi knows he has her back 200 percent and hinted that what people see on TV isn’t everything when it comes to their relationship.

DonJuan made it clear that he was getting a lot of negative comments from what he said on the episode. He later posted a message about blocking people who are being ignorant.

DonJuan also re-posted a message from a friend that made it clear that he’s not bothered by all the criticism but rather takes it as proof that he’s getting noticed.

The strong feelings that many viewers have about DonJuan is not just from the small scene that he had with Kandi Burruss on Sunday night’s episode. He has appeared in previous seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, during which he opposed Kandi’s relationship with her now-husband, Todd Tucker. Many viewers left comments on Kandi’s Instagram post that reminded her about DonJuan’s past comments about Todd.

DonJuan also appeared in Kandi and Todd’s spin-off, Kandi’s Ski Trip, earlier this summer. On the spin-off, he and Kandi’s other employee/friend Carmon Cambrice were shown being a bit lazy and incompetent with their jobs. While he and Carmon were shown spending most of their time sitting around gossiping and complaining, Todd’s assistant, Matthew Parrish, went above and beyond his job duties. Even Kandi’s daughter, Riley, told DonJuan and Carmon that they should stop talking badly about Matthew and just do their jobs right. As the episodes aired, Matthew made clear that he would love to take over DonJuan and Carmon’s job by stating on social media that they “best be steppin.”

Speaking of Matthew, he was also at Kandi’s baby shower on Saturday. Matthew posted a photo of himself with some of Kandi’s family members at the shower. Perhaps he had some awkward moments with DonJuan and Carmon at the shower?

As the Inquisitr reported, Phaedra was also at the shower. Since the Real Housewives stars get to watch the episodes before they air, she may have watched Sunday night’s episode already by the time she went to the party. If she did, she also likely had some awkward moments with DonJuan at the shower. Or perhaps they just avoided one another?

At the end of Sunday night’s episode, Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burruss sat down to hash out their grievances. Kandi told Phaedra how upset she was that Phaedra pretended that everything was fine to her face but then complained about her to others. Phaedra said that she was upset that Kandi wasn’t that supportive while she was going through her drama with Apollo Nida. Phaedra also voiced her displeasure that Todd and Kandi stored some of Apollo’s possessions at their house without telling her, seemed to be judging her for not taking the kids to see Apollo in prison, and that Apollo was hanging out at the strip club with Todd when he should’ve been home taking care of the kids. After they voiced their grievances, both women agreed to communicate better with one another and move forward with their friendship.

Yet DonJuan wasn’t convinced. After hearing the talking, he blasted Phaedra Parks for being fake.
