Paris: Americans Wounded In The Attacks

In Paris, one of the Americans wounded was in attendance at the Bataclan concert hall to hear the Eagles of Death Metal band perform Friday night. Helen Jane Wilson says she lived in New Orleans before moving to Paris to start a catering company called Rock en Bol, which specializes in providing services to musicians.

“She just bought a new car for her business today, she was really excited,” said Jason Berry, a friend of Wilson.

According to NOLA, Berry says Wilson was shot in both thighs, but she tried to save the life of a former boyfriend named Nick Alexander. The man was laying on the ground beside her, and Wilson tried to resuscitate him, but he “died in her arms.”

“Then he couldn’t breathe any more and I held him in my arms and told him I loved him. He was the love of my life,” she said, according to Heavy.

Helen Wilson says she and Alexander were no longer a couple at the time of the Paris attacks, but they had decided to hang out together as friends. Alexander’s girlfriend, Polina Buckley, also posted a photo on Twitter.

More than 128 people were massacred during ISIS’ Paris attacks, but Wilson survived and managed to get surgery for her wounds at L’hopital Saint-Antoine.

“She’s in the hospital now,” Berry said. “She is OK, considering.”

Barry said her friends plan on setting up a fundraiser account to help with the cost of surgery, but a GoFundMe memorial account has already been set up in honor of Alexander. The fundraiser has already raised $46,324 as of this publishing. The money is intended to go to the family of the Paris terrorist attack victims.
