A Minnesota witness has reported an unusually close encounter with a UFO during which he saw the occupants of the flying craft through the windows on the side.
According to the witness from Olivia in Renville County, Minnesota, in a testimony filed as case 72323 in the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database, a UFO shaped like a missile came so close while driving along highway 212 that he was able to see the occupants through the windows of the craft, according to Open Minds-TV.
The witness, who lives in Minneapolis, told MUFON that he was driving home on highway 212 after stopping at a Dairy Queen in Olivia. When he looked out through the front passenger window of his car, he noticed what appeared, at first glance, like a small airplane skimming the tree line.
When he looked again, he noticed that the "airplane" had unusually large, rectangular windows. He also observed that it did not have the red and green flashing lights used by small airplanes.
It was then that he realized he was witnessing something out of the ordinary.
The witness said in his testimony, "When I looked out the passenger side window to the north, I noticed what at first I thought was a small airplane flying just above the tree line. I looked again and noticed the windows were too large to be airplane windows."
The witness immediately reached for his camera to snap photos, but the UFO made a sudden sharp turn and flew directly toward the witness.
The witness recalled that as the UFO flew in his direction, he saw three bright lights in front of it.
The UFO approached the witness's car, flying just above the level of the trees, moving very fast. It whizzed over the car and disappeared to the south after appearing from the north.
Stunned and shaken, the witness pulled over, got out of his car and scanned the horizon with unaided eyes to see whether he could spot the mystery UFO. But, he saw only lights from passenger jets in the distance.
"It came at my vehicle above the treetop level quite fast and passed over the top of my vehicle and the road and then disappeared to the south. I immediately pulled over to the side of the road and looked for the object in the sky and could not see anything."
The witness described the alleged UFO in detail as a flying craft about 11-30 feet long with a bullet or missile shape. It had a dark or grey surface with large rectangular windows on the side. The interior of the UFO, as seen through the large rectangular windows, appeared lit by yellow and white light.
According to the MUFON report, "The shape of the object was described as a bullet or a missile. The surface was dark and it had long rectangular windows."
Throughout the sighting the UFO flew just above the tree line up to a height of about 500 feet and it approached the witness as close as 21 feet.
Open Minds-TV's Roger Marsh notes that most UFO sightings have natural explanation and most UFOs turn out to be man-made objects.
UFO enthusiasts have noted that the witness gives no description of the beings he saw looking out through the large rectangular-shaped windows of the craft. A vital question is whether they were human, humanoid or unlike humans in appearance.
The fact that the witness skipped describing the appearance of the occupants of the craft could mean there was nothing unusual about them -- that is, they looked human. Otherwise, he did not see them clearly enough to offer any description.
"...there is no description of the UFO occupants that were in the UFO that was seen along Highway 212 in Olivia, Minnesota."
The Minneapolis–Saint Paul Air Reserve Station is not far from the spot where the sighting occurred. And the fact that the witness could mistake the "UFO" for a small airplane at first sight suggests it could have been an unfamiliar type of military plane with the human occupants sitting by the window.
The cylindrical, missile or bullet shape of the craft is similar to the shape of military transport planes, for instance.
However, there are unanswered questions. The sudden, sharp turn of the craft would be an impossible feat for most man-made aircraft, except probably a helicopter.
