Michigan State Police Name House Fire Homicide Suspect [Breaking]

The Michigan State Police have named a suspect in a homicide investigation regarding a house fire in Greendale Township, Midland County, according to a report from MLive.

Michigan State Police and firefighters responded to a house fire at approximately 3:15 p.m. EST on Friday, November 13, at 372 Castor Road in Greendale Township to find the building fully-engulfed, according to the Michigan State Police Mount Pleasant Post. Upon investigation, an “elderly female” was found dead inside the residence, and police investigators determined her death to be a homicide, and the fire deliberate arson.

Working with Midland County deputies, the police canvassed the area and determined that both the homicide and fire are related to a felonious assault investigation currently underway.

Police have identified a suspect in the homicide and arson, and are requesting public assistance in locating 46-year-old Gregory Allen Rose. Rose is described as a white male, approximately 6’2? tall, weighing around 260 lbs with blonde hair and green eyes.

Rose was recently paroled from serving a 30 to 60 year sentence for armed robbery and criminal sexual conduct. Police believe that he may have left the area in a white 2004 Ford Escape with Michigan Registration BMV-4646, which was found missing from the house fire scene. Police are also warning the public not to approach him or the vehicle if seen, as he is considered to be armed and dangerous. Police ask anyone who spots him or the vehicle to call 911.

In addition to the arson and homicide investigation, Rose is already wanted for absconding parole and felonious aggravated assault related to Midland County’s investigation.

Crime Stoppers has offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to Rose’s arrest and conviction. Members of the public who have any information which may assist in Rose’s arrest are asked to contact Detective Sergeant Bill Arndt at 989-615-6257, the Midland County Detective Tip Line 989-839-4609, or Crime Stoppers.
