Khloe Kardashian A Polygamist? ‘KUWTK’ Star Says Yes, Ellen DeGeneres Says No
It seems as if few people are able to catch Ellen DeGeneres off guard, but Khloe Kardashian was able to do just that when she called herself a polygamist during an interview on Ellen.
Khloe Kardashian taped an interview with Ellen in an effort to promote her book, Strong Looks Better Naked, but it didn’t take long for Ellen to start in on the areas of Khloe’s life that everyone really wants to know about. Among those topics? Khloe Kardashian’s “love triangle” with husband Lamar Odom and boyfriend James Harden.
During the interview, Ellen touches on the awkward situation, saying, “Well, obviously the most important thing is your family understands and your boyfriend understands.”
Khloe responds to Ellen’s supportive comment in a somewhat strange way, calling herself a polygamist. Khloe tells Ellen,
“I’m just gonna say I’m like part of polygamy now. I have a husband. I have a boyfriend. That’s a way easier thing to say. Right?”
During the clip, Ellen double checks that she heard Khloe correctly, to which Khloe repeats, “Yeah, I’m a polygamist.”
Ellen, who doesn’t seem to accept Khloe’s flawed definition of polygamy, challenges Khloe’s statement on the spot.
“Okay, if that’s what you want me to call you I will…. but I think that’s many husbands isn’t it? So you’re not really a polygamist.”
Khloe confirms that Ellen is correct — Kardashian is only actually married to one man, despite the fact that she’s dating another.
Ellen’s quizzing of Kardashian’s relationship status comes after a long month for Khloe Kardashian and her entire family. Khloe’s husband, Lamar Odom, was hospitalized in October after he collapsed at a Las Vegas-area brothel. The former NBA player allegedly took a dangerous combination of cocaine and a sexual performance-enhancing drug. Odom was found by two brothel employees and was then rushed to the hospital.
Eventually, Khloe Kardashian and company moved Lamar to a Los Angeles hospital for his long road to recovery.
Khloe and Lamar were married in 2009 after a whirlwind courtship. The couple filed for divorce in 2013, though the divorce had not yet been finalized when Lamar was admitted to the hospital. Shortly after his admission, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star withdrew the divorce papers.
Kim Kardashian spoke to Ryan Seacrest on Friday about Lamar Odom’s current condition, saying that Odom may not ever have the same mental abilities he once had.
“He’s here and he’s alive, but to say it’s not a long road and to say he’s fully better is not the truth either. He has a lot of work to do and a lot of communication therapy and having to learn to walk again and to talk again. You never know if he’ll ever be the same again…. It’s a full daily therapy to see if he’ll ever have the brain function he used to have, and if he can walk again.”
Throughout the entire Lamar Odom ordeal, Khloe Kardashian’s boyfriend James Harden has been incredibly supportive, sources have said.
Kim Kardashian also talked about Khloe Kardashian’s love triangle during her interview with Seacrest.
“I respect Khloe so much — she dropped her entire life and has been there and been so supportive, but at the same time, you know, what is she supposed to do when she hasn’t had communication with (Lamar) for a while and she has a boyfriend. She finally moved on. And it’s crazy how God works, and God puts someone in your life, but I truly in my heart of hearts believe that all the prayers received for Lamar worked.”
Khloe Kardashian and Houston Rockets player James Harden were seen out Sunday night for the first time since Lamar Odom was hospitalized. The pair were said to show extreme displays of PDA while visiting a night club.
