Lindsay Lohan Dresses Up Like Murder Victim Sharon Tate On Charles Manson’s Birthday, Was Once In Talks To Play Late Actress

Lindsay Lohan chose an awkward day to dress up like actress Sharon Tate, one of the murder victims of Charles Manson and his “family” of followers. Lohan showed off an outfit inspired by the Valley of the Dolls star yesterday, which just so happened to be Manson’s 81st birthday.

According to Complex, Lindsay Lohan didn’t mention Charles Manson’s birthday when she shared her Sharon Tate homage on Instagram, so there’s a chance her timing was simply a strange coincidence. Lilo posted a photo of herself wearing a floral print crop top with matching shorts and a pair of thigh-high suede boots, and she professed her admiration for Tate in the comment accompanying the picture.

“#cancer meets #AQUARIUS I LOVE SHARON TATE #themeLOOK #hippieWINTERCHIC,” Lohan wrote.

Sharon Tate was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with director Roman Polanski’s baby when Charles Manson’s followers brutally murdered her during their 1969 killing spree. Manson is still very much alive, and yesterday he celebrated his 81st birthday at Corcoran State Prison in California. According to Gossip Cop, some of Lindsay Lohan’s Instagram followers think that the Mean Girls star was being insensitive by dressing up like Tate on the birthday of her murderer.

“Sharon Tate died a tragic death. Is there ANYTHING you won’t do for attention?” one commenter wrote.

Jezebel speculates that Lohan might still be trying to cast as Sharon Tate in a movie about the late actress. According to Entertainment Weekly, photographer Tyler Shields was interested in casting Lindsay Lohan in a 2011 film about Charles Manson titled Eyes of a Dreamer. He was planning on playing the killer, and he thought Lohan would make the perfect Tate.

“We’ve worked together many, many times,” Shields said. “She asked me about [Eyes]… And I said, ‘Oh you should be Sharon Tate.’ And she was like, ‘That would be amazing.'”

Unfortunately for Lindsay, the movie never got made. However, Jezebel points out that Lifetime ordered a TV movie about the Manson family murders earlier this year, and Lindsay has already worked with the network — she played Elizabeth Taylor in Liz & Dick.

Lindsay Lohan was once considered one of Hollywood’s hottest up-and-coming actresses, but these days she only seems to make headlines for what she posts on Instagram. As the Inquisitr previously reported, she’s shared Instagram pics that have generated buzz for featuring photo shop fails and nip slips. However, according to Moviepilot, Lindsay claims that she’s finally getting back in the acting game — she recently took to Instagram (natch) to reveal that she just started filming a movie titled The Shadow Within. However, there seems to be virtually zero information about the project online.

If the whole movie thing doesn’t work out for Lohan, she might want to start getting more involved in politics. According to People, the Freaky Friday star announced her political aspirations on Instagram last month. Kanye West had just announced that he would be running for president in a lengthy rant at the MTV Video Music Awards, and apparently Lindsay thought that Yeezus could use a little celebrity competition. Lohan proclaimed that she’s also interested in running for president, and she revealed that her first order of business as Commander in Chief would be to “take care of all of the children suffering in the world.” Lohan claimed that Queen Elizabeth showed her how to do this while she was in Great Britain.

Unfortunately for Lindsay Lohan, she likely won’t win the endorsement of one very influential woman. According to Oprah Winfrey, Lilo can’t even handle filming a reality show, so there’s no way she’ll be capable of running a country. Lohan starred on the short-lived OWN reality series Lindsay for one short season of eight episodes, so Oprah has experience working with the troubled star.

“[Lindsay Lohan is] one of those people who said, ‘oh yes, sure, I’ll have the cameras follow me’ and then when you realize how much work that really is… you know how much acting you got to do to make it look real?” Oprah said during an interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

The talk show host compared Lindsay’s work ethic to that of another reality show star, Kim Kardashian.

“I went to film them as a family. I couldn’t believe how hard they work,” Oprah said, according to Marie Claire. “So I disagree that they don’t do work. They have become their own iconic phemon, in this country and abroad, and you don’t get that by not doing some work.”

Potential future First Lady Kim Kardashian has to feel pretty good about her chances of securing an Oprah endorsement for Kanye West, and Yeezus certainly has the funds for a presidential run. However, Lindsay Lohan might want to quit campaigning for president and start campaigning for more movie roles.
