Niall Horan Plans On Working With Ellie Goulding, Appears In New J.K. Rowling Book

Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne will soon embark on a two-year-long vacation from being boy band stars, and many One Direction fans are likely trying to deal with their lengthy temporary break by speculating about what the guys will do without the group. However, it’s unlikely that Directioners guessed that Niall Horan would make a cameo in a book before the band’s big break. There are probably also plenty of Directioners who will be surprised to learn that Niall is collaborating with his ex-girlfriend, Ellie Goulding, on new music.

According to the Independent, Niall Horan makes an appearance in J. K. Rowling’s new novel. Niall has probably popped up in many a Harry Potter fanfiction, but Rowling hasn’t penned a book about Niall starting a wizard boy band called “Wand Direction.” Rather, the singer is mentioned in her new adult crime novel, Career of Evil. J. K. Rowling wrote the novel under her pen name, Robert Galbraith, and it’s the third in her Cormoran Strike series.

Niall Horan fans who dare to read the novel might be a bit shocked by the part that the One Direction star plays in it. It’s revealed that a young murder victim name Kelsey was obsessed with the singer, and she claimed that Niall was her boyfriend.

“The band. They’re a band that came third on The X Factor. She’s obsessed – she was obsessed – and Niall was her favorite,” an excerpt reads. “So when she says she’s met a boy called Niall and he’s eighteen and he’s got a motorbike, I mean, what were we supposed to think?”

Niall Horan is going to make sure that having a small role in a J.K. Rowling novel isn’t his only claim to fame during One Direction’s break. According to the Sun, he’s going to spend some of his time off working with his ex-girlfriend, “Burn” singer Ellie Goulding.

“I’m going to write with him,” Ellie revealed. “He’s a really good guitarist and he’s funny, cheeky, really cool. He’s been my friend for quite a few years so I’m really up for it.”

There’s no word on how Ellie Goulding’s boyfriend, Dougie Poynter, will feel about the blonde beauty working with her ex. During a June interview with Elle, Goulding finally addressed rumors that she and Niall Horan had a fling by confirming that she did go on a few dates with the One Direction singer.

Other than working with Ellie Goulding, Niall Horan doesn’t seem to have too much planned for One Direction’s two-year-long break, which will begin early next year. Until then, he’ll likely spend a lot of time helping the group promote their album that was just released today, Made in the A.M. It’s the fifth for the boy band.

One Direction got its start on a reality show, so naturally there’s been speculation that Niall will return to reality TV during his break. However, he doesn’t think that he’s up for judging The X Factor or competing on Strictly Come Dancing. He also doesn’t want to head to the jungle on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! or try to ice skate on Dancing on Ice.

“I don’t think I’d be suited to The X Factor – I’m not opinionated enough. Strictly? I can’t dance. I can’t ice-skate and I’m not going in the jungle. So no,” Niall Horan told the Irish Times. “I’m going on holidays for a while, sitting around doing nathin’. I was thinking about learning a bit of Spanish or something like that, something to keep me going.”

Niall’s comment about ice skating shows just how busy One Direction has kept him. If he had time to keep up with his entertainment news, he’d know that Dancing on Ice was cancelled.

During his interview with the Irish Times, Niall reassured fans that One Direction’s break is definitely going to be temporary, no matter how many reports suggest that Niall and his bandmates will decide to call it quits for good after they go their separate ways in a few weeks. Niall is seemingly tired of being asked about whether the break will turn into an actual break up.

“It seems like no matter how many times we say we’re not breaking up, the more people say that we are, so I’m just giving up on that.”
