Does Amber Rose Give Awful Sex And Financial Advice?

Since Amber Rose has released her book How to Be A Bad B***h, she’s receiving backlash for the advice she gives her readers.

Amber Rose is receiving backlash for telling women to simply seduce men for their wallets. The video vixen and Instagram model is a former stripper, so she does know how to hustle. But is it really right for Rose to encourage women to use her hustling skills in order to land a man? Rose’s new book is supposed to be a self-help book that teaches women how to empower themselves, take control of their money, and become an entrepreneur in a fast-paced world, but it looks it offers some awful sex and relationship advice. She’s basically telling women to date men for their money.

During her interview with Time magazine, Amber Rose explained why she included a section on how to seduce men.

“As women, we’re fortunate enough to use our seductive skills in order to be able to get money from our significant others. I also talk about seduction in the book. A lot of women don’t know how to seduce a man. It is extremely easy once you get to that point, and you can get anything you want out of them.”

The 31-year-old mother of one is aware of how backwards her advice may come across to some of her readers. Rose insists that she’s not teaching women to become gold diggers or trophy wives.

“And I know it might sound messed up, but once you get to that point, it’s not using. It’s not using a man; it’s literally getting what you want by any means necessary.”

With good reason, Rose’s recent comments have received backlash from her fans, most of them on Twitter. They slammed the actress and entrepreneur for her anti-feminist advice, especially since Rose has talked about female equality and empowerment.

“How about teaching women to get an (sic) higher education so you don’t depend on a man to fatten your pockets,” one Twitter user wrote.

“She’s just embarrassing herself. Why not empower girls to finish school so they can be successful and not depend on a man,” said another user.

Amber has caught wind of the backlash. She took to her Twitter to call her fans “corny” and to wonder why it’s wrong to ask one’s partner for money.

Rose is also being slammed for the poor financial advice she gives in her new book. She says that she can teach her readers how to earn as much as $1 million dollars. Or at least make them feel like they can after reading Rose’s book.

“I feel like I’m in a position to give advice to women because I’ve made all of these mistakes,” Rose tells Time. For example, she recalls “one of the biggest financial mistakes that I ever made was making a lot of money – I wanna say I made $1 million in 2011 – and I spent all of it. And then after that, I had to pay taxes, and I did not have the money for the taxes, and I was like, ‘I can’t believe I did this.’ And I really had to start over.”

Amber is talking about her paycheck in 2011 that she earned as an exotic dancer. That first big paycheck helped her learn about business and finances. Amber referred to stripping as her form of “business school.” Amber says it’s important for other young women in business to reach their own goals by finding mentors, keeping track of their goals, and considering life-term goals such as raising a family.

The Backlash star previously slammed GQ magazine for referring to her as Kanye West’s ex, saying she’s more than just a man’s former flame. But it looks like Rose is backtracking on the feminist ideals she’s been embracing as of late. According to some critics, instead of encouraging women to be independent, Rose is telling women to use their looks and bodies to get what they want, setting women back 30 years.
