‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 — Did A Photo Reveal White Walkers On Set? Plus Margaery’s Plan To Break Out Of Prison

Although there is still a good deal of mystery surrounding the sixth season of Game of Thrones, there have been a few recent developments that hint at what fans can expect to transpire in the new season. With that in mind, Natalie Dormer, who plays Margaery in the hit series, recently sat down with Vanity Fair and discussed her character’s plan for a prison break in Season 6.

Margaery has been in prison ever since High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) accused her of conspiring against him. Although she still finds herself locked up at the start of the new season, Dormer revealed that her character will find a creative way to escape.

“Margaery is a savvy chick and she’s trying to find an angle — she’s trying to find a way to get out of that cell so it’s pretty amusing and ingenious the route she decides to take,” Dormer explained in the interview.

This doesn’t come as a huge surprise, especially considering Margaery’s past schemes. The only real mystery is how Margaery plans to convince the High Sparrow that he should release her from confinement.

According to Realty Today, the leading theory on the matter involves Margaery convincing the High Sparrow that she has converted to his religion and is ready to repent for her past deeds. Although this might prove to be difficult, it would definitely offer her a unique way to get out of prison.

At the same time, Margaery might also find support from Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), who is reportedly involved in a scene that has him taking a group of Tyrell soldiers to the Sept of Baelor. If this is the case, then Lannister could very well negotiate the release of Margaery.

Meanwhile, a recent post by director Miguel Sapochnik may have revealed that White Walkers could actually be included in the coming season. According to the Daily Mail, the director posted an image on social media of a clapperboard with the Game of Thrones logo and the words “White Walker Unit” underneath.

The image, which was promptly taken down, led to rumors that Season 6 would actually include the mythological icemen. This news follows reports that the White Walkers would not be featured in the new season following the death of Jon Snow (Kit Harington).

That being said, Sapochnik quickly attempted to clear the air after taking down the image from his social media account. In doing so, Sapochnik assured fans that White Walkers would not be in the new season and that his photo was nothing more than a reference to crew members.

“Sorry folks. Whitewalker refers to the different crews on the show,” he posted on Twitter. “Dragon unit, Wolf unit and new addition White Walker unit.”

However, given the ties that the White Walkers have with Jon, it is possible that Sapochnik is just trying to mislead fans. In fact, according to Arts Mic, if the White Walkers are included in the new season, then it is very likely that Jon will be back in action in order to take out the creatures.

Additionally, the clapperboard was marked as being the 10th episode in Season 6. This would indicate that the White Walkers are going to be included at the very end of the season, which means that Jon would have plenty of time to be resurrected and return in order to fight the icemen.

Of course, the leaked image could just be a clever way to drum up anticipation for the new season. Whether or not this turns out to be the case is still to be seen, but it should be noted that Sapochnik isn’t known for leaking information, especially something as big as Jon’s return.

Game of Thrones returns for Season 6 in the spring of 2016.
