Trevor Noah Mocks Donald Trump And Starbucks Cup Faux Outrage

Trevor Noah had a lot of good material for jokes Tuesday night and he definitely delivered. Entertainment Weekly talks about Noah’s latest rant, which is against Starbucks critics.

“Noah addressed the outrage brewing against Starbucks for the company’s annual holiday cups, which this year feature a simple all-red design and Starbucks logo, without any seasonal or, specifically Christmas, design. (As Noah points out the cups still bear the red and green colors of Christmas.)”

“I’m sorry, none of the usual Christmas markings? The cups are red and green. That is the color of Christmas. They didn’t make the cups red and green in honor of stop lights or to remember a time when Kermit got a rash,” Noah told the audience, who genuinely thought that he was being funny.

Noah then lampooned Donald Trump for calling for a boycott against Starbucks. Besides Trump, both right wingers and left wingers think the controversy is an absolute joke. Even Todd Starnes from Fox News laughed at the controversy.

“I mean – really. All of this outrage over a coffee cup? It’s not the Holy Grail, folks. It’s a cranberry-colored, environmentally-friendly coffee cup.”

The coffee cup controversy is, perhaps, the only thing Trevor Noah and Fox News can agree on. Another right wing outlet, however, is gleefully reporting Noah’s falling ratings. Breitbart has the news.

“Although the presidential race is already hotter than hot, Trevor Noah, the leftwing host of Comedy Central’s ‘Daily Show,’ has managed to turn off a full 37% of his predecessor’s viewers. According to Nielsen, in his first full month as host, Noah is down 32% in the all important 18-49 viewing demo, and down a catastrophic 37% in total viewers.”

Breitbart adds that the collapse is not artificially skewed; the comparison does not include the ratings increase that came with Jon Stewart’s final week. The ratings news came as another blow to Noah, who had to have an appendectomy last week. Newsweek reported on his emergency surgery last Wednesday and Comedy Central made an announcement.

“Trevor Noah underwent an emergency appendectomy this morning. We’re happy to report that the procedure went well and he is currently recuperating from the surgery. As a result, The Daily Show will air an encore tonight. We expect he and the show will be back with an original episode tomorrow,” tweeted Comedy Central on Wednesday morning.

Trevor Noah knows not to let an emergency go to waste and his surgery led him to doing a skit about the health care system in the United States. The New York Daily News talks about Noah’s skit.

“‘ The Daily Show’ host Trevor Noah got a crash course in American health care early Wednesday when he said an emergency room employee prioritized paperwork over his perforated appendix.”

Noah explained that a woman at the hospital desk wanted him to fill out a form, even though he indicated that he was dying. She wouldn’t relent and told him he has to fill out the form first no matter what. His skit did lead to many discussing the downfalls of the health care system in the United States, but others said that Noah, as a “foreigner,” had no right to complain.
