Donald Trump appeared on Saturday Night Live (SNL) for the second time amidst controversy, critique, and complaints. While there were numerous petitions to NBC asking that the controversial GOP presidential nominee be replaced as the show’s host, Donald Trump went on to not only host SNL, but achieve ratings success. According to Fox News, Donald Trump garnered the highest ratings for SNL in four years. The highest-rated SNL episode was when Charles Barkley hosted in 2012. While Donald Trump didn’t hesitate to make fun of himself, some of the skits touched on controversial subjects, such as Latinos and immigration. Even while SNL aired, the controversy played out on social media networks.
As Trump puts the weekend events and his SNL hosting behind him, he will appear in Springfield, Illinois, on November 9, where he will hold a rally from the Prairie Capital Convention Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. CT. The live Donald Trump speech and rally takes place at 7 p.m. CT. You may watch Donald Trump live from the Illinois rally in the video player above, as it will be streaming online.
Donald Trump followed his SNL appearance with a CNN interview on Sunday’s State of the Union. He spoke about Ben Carson and comments that Carson has made regarding why he would never host SNL. Trump also expressed his opinions regarding Carson’s revelations about his tumultuous and at times violent past.
“It’s a lot of scrutiny and it’s a lot of statements that are under fire. And I hope Ben is going to be OK with it. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens. Time will tell. But it’s certain a lot of people are asking a lot of questions all of a sudden. And you know, it’s a little bit tough. I’d say it’s not so easy on Ben. I hope, frankly, it comes out great for him.”

Did you watch Donald Trump host SNL? Do you agree with the critics? If you read through the comments on the Fox News article, you’ll find one recurring theme: not many laughs. Many people who watched Donald Trump host SNL said that though he was a good sport, the show simply wasn’t very funny. Fox News also stated that Trump’s hosting beat out Hillary Clinton’s hosting in viewership, but that hasn’t seemed to make an impression on the viewers.
Many who watched the show stated the funniest moment of the night was when comedian Larry David heckled Donald Trump by shouting “You’re a racist” during the live SNL taping. According to Deport Racism’s “Disrupt Trump” campaign, the person who interrupted Donald Trump on SNL with shouts of racism would win $5,000. Larry David stood up, made the remarks, and stated he heard he’d get $5,000 if he did it. What do you think of the actions? Did you see Larry David interrupt Donald Trump on SNL? Are you going to watch Trump’s speech in the live streaming video above on November 9 beginning at 7 p.m. CT?
