Scotty McCreery Releases ‘Southern Belle’ Music Video, Country Singer Marches To The Beat Of His Own Drum

Scotty McCreery is one cool country dude. His red hair, boyish charm, and his famous baritone vocals have made him a favorite among country music fans. His new single, “Southern Belle,” was released in August, and now the video for that toe-tapping song has just been released as well.

In the video that was posted on YouTube on November 9, McCreery is seen surrounded by a marching band and plenty of talented cheerleaders doing all sorts of flips and jumps as he sings the country hit. This may be a “coming of age” moment for the American Idol alum, as the song and this video has proven that he is growing up and branching out with his music.

He told Rare Country in an exclusive interview just what he wanted to accomplish when he decided to record this new tune.

“Obviously they are pretty girls and all that, but what was really important to me was showcasing the strong aspect of those girls and their athleticism.”

“Southern Belle” is the first single off of Scotty’s upcoming third album. It is a little edgier than what fans are used to from this country boy. With lyrics such as “She’s Dukes of Hazzard in her daddy’s car, Amazing Grace in a Mason jar,” you can tell that he is taking his music to the next level. But don’t expect him to take it any further than this. He explained to the Boot on how he is evolving in his career.

“We’re just stretching. We’re just trying new things. From the four years ago when I started, we kind of evolved. We’re still evolving. Every artist is evolving. So this is the product of a 21-year-old Scotty.”

This just shows that Scotty McCreery has no problem marching to the beat of his own drum. His fans don’t seem to mind either. They have been anxiously waiting for new music from him. Hopefully, this will tide them over until next year when McCreery dished that the full-length album will be released.

The 22-year-old was also just named Nash Country Weekly’s 2015 Sexiest Man. Scotty thanked his fans for giving him that honor. He seemed quite humbled about it, but that it is just the way he has always been since he came onto the country music scene. The North Carolina native is soft spoken and has that boyish grin that would melt any girl’s heart. He also puts God first and is not afraid to show it.

Scotty McCreery is also releasing his first book on May 3, 2016, as mentioned on Taste of Country. The autobiography is called Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream, where he writes about his journey from his childhood to becoming the superstar that he is today. Scotty had this to say in his press release as the announcement was made.

“God gave me a voice and America gave me a chance. This book is about those two things.”

He has certainly used his voice to entertain his fans. According to his many concert-goers, McCreery gives it his all and puts on quite the show. Although he didn’t perform on the 2015 CMA Awards last week, the “See You Tonight” singer attended the show and rubbed elbows with his fellow country stars. Scotty also looked quite suave in a flowered metallic jacket with a white shirt and black tie underneath. He even got to meet up with his former American Idol pal Lauren Alaina. Those two became quite close during that time when they were competing against each other and have remained friends ever since.

It looks like Scotty McCreery has what it takes to make his career in country music last a lifetime. He has already has made it big and hopefully it will continue for a long time.
