Miley Cyrus Licks Piano, Talks About Sexual Identity At LGBT Event
America is visually familiar with Miley Cyrus’ tongue, and many find that odd. Once a poster child as a teenage good girl, Hannah Montana, the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus went wild once she became of age – making headlines with her grinding sexual moves, scantily clad appearances on music awards shows, and most of all – the constant appearance of her tongue.
Her tongue is at it again, according to Us Magazine. While Miley was at a gala event for LGBT awareness awards, it was just one of her renowned moments. On Saturday, November 7, the controversial singer was honored for her work with the LGBT community at the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s 46th Anniversary Gala, and decided, in Miley trademark fashion, to lick a white grand piano as part of her acceptance speech.
“I really have to pee, so I’m going to make this kind of quick,” Miley began, drawing laughter from the audience as she took the platform. Miley’s speech about issues regarding sexual orientation and fluid sexuality was not exactly brief, however.
“The first day that I got to visit you all is a day that I never will forget. And that’s because given the opportunity to sit in one of the support groups I walked away with a feeling of self-love that I have never been able to even give myself before. Because, you know my life until that point, I was subconsciously convinced that I had to label myself. Because everything in our life has to have a name. Everything in our life is something but I’m not a thing. We’re not a thing. We’re humans with feelings that change just like this weather — which we’ve gotta do something about, and I’m not alone. I was so moved when I first heard someone sitting beside me say, ‘Some days I wake up and I’m the masculine version of myself and some days I wake up and I’m the feminine version of myself,'” she said. “And that’s totally okay. And the LGBT Center had the key to the lock on my cage and they set me free.”
Although her male ex-lovers include Liam Hemsworth and Patrick Schwarzenegger, Miley says she isn’t heterosexual. According to Us Magazine, she said she feels a certain persona with men that she doesn’t feel with women. Men are difficult, Miley previously told the magazine, that “made me feel like I had to be a femme-bot, which I’m not. And then when I was with a girl, I felt like, ‘Oh s–t, she’s going to need someone to protect her, so I’m going to need to have this macho energy.’ And that didn’t feel right either.” So, Miley has decided that she is looking for an individual rather than a gender, and is therefore bisexual.
Although Miley has been dragged through the proverbial media mud in the past few years, she doesn’t seem to mind a bit, and comments from many people on articles about her antics indicate that there is suspicion that Miley’s words and actions are not sincere, but for effect and ratings. Rumors about Miley have run the gamut from claims that she is involved in illegal drugs to being rumored to having been pregnant with Schwarzenegger’s baby, which has not been validated in any manner, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. Her racy outfits cause quite a stir even in celebrity circles, as well as outfits that have suggested sexual fetishes and other themes that don’t sit well with mainstream America.
Regardless, Miley’s award shows that she is a warrior for some of the LGBT community and that’s likely because she is unafraid to speak openly about issues that the LGBT community encounters and her own feelings about sexuality. New information indicates that the licked piano is being auctioned for $50,000 for Vanguard Charity.
