Jill Dillard Meets With Government Officials To Discuss ‘Pressing Issues,’ Works At Local Midwife Clinic

Jill Dillard is working hard to silence the naysayers about her Dillard Family Ministries outreach. The Duggar daughter has sent out a number of email newsletters to family followers, outlining exactly what outreach programs the family has taken part in since returning to Central America. The newly-certified midwife says she has had the opportunity to work in a local midwife clinic and claims to have spoken with “government officials” regarding “pressing issues.”

In a newsletter sent to Dillard family followers, Jill outlined a number of things she has been doing since returning to Central America. She notes the Dillards have led multiple youth conferences in the region and organized a soccer tournament. More surprising is the fact that the pair claim to have met with government officials. However, the specific officials she has allegedly spokem with and what issues they have discussed are not mentioned.

“We have visited many villages and town squares where we have performed dramas and programs, evangelized, helped lead a couple youth conferences, organized a regional soccer tournament, met with government officials to discuss pressing issues, worked on construction projects, and made home visits.”

On the Dillard Family Blog, Jill Dillard shared photos from her work at a local birth center. She notes that she was able to help at a midwife clinic in the area one day this week and shared a photo from her time at the clinic.

Jill also took the time to send an email titled, “We are blessed,” to subscribers with a number of photos from her time in Central America. She also outlines a number of the things that the Dillard family feel blessed to have experienced in their mission work.

“Thank you to everyone who has prayed for, financially supported and thought about us over these past few months. We are blessed to have met so many new friends through our ministry. We are blessed to be able to share the Word with so many. We are blessed to be able to share this experience with Israel and he is the center of attention wherever he goes. We are blessed by your continued support. And we look forward to sharing our Ministry with you over the weeks and months ahead.”

Each line in the email featured a different photo to showcase the words at hand. For example, when discussing being blessed with the ability to “share the word,” Jill followed the statement with a photo of a group of locals gathered at the S.O.S. Ministries base.

With Jill going to great lengths to update fans on her volunteer work in Central America, it seems she is trying to put to rest rumors that her non-profit Dillard Family Ministries is not providing services to those in need in the community. In fact, the family has promised newsletter subscribers that they will be updating them frequently on their work in Central America and sent out three consecutive newsletters last week alone.

What do you think about her response? Will you be watching the Dillard family in the Jill & Jessa: Counting On specials that will air on TLC at the end of this year? Do you think Jill is feeling pressure to ensure a large fan base when the specials air?
