Jeremy Clarkson and Piers Morgan are two men with a lot in common. They are both television personalities, newspaper columnists, and authors. Moreover, they have huge, almost matching egos, have sparked a flurry of controversy in their careers, and don’t seem to mind tussling with others over matters they have strong feelings about. However, they can’t seem to stand each other and have clashed quite a few times, with Jeremy Clarkson, who was recently sacked from the BBC for punching one of Top Gear’s producers, physically attacking Piers on one occasion.
On how it started and went down, their feud began in 2000 when Piers worked as an editor for the Daily Mirror. He, one morning, received a stack of photographs by paparazzi showing Jeremy Clarkson embracing Elaine Bedell, a TV producer. Piers is said to have contacted Clarkson to get clarification on the snaps, and Jeremy explained that Bedell was only a friend and added the following as reported by the Daily Mail.
“I’m not physically capable of having an affair. You can ask my wife.”
