‘Teen Wolf’ Spoilers: Which Cast Member Could Be Leaving The Show?

Teen Wolf spoilers are pouring in as the show prepares for a 10-episode run to conclude season 5.

At the forefront of the Teen Wolf spoilers is the fact that star Tyler Posey will direct an episode for the first time. According to Design and Trend, Tyler Posey shared some information about Teen Wolf at New York Comic Con this past October about the process involved directing his peers.

“I want all the actors and everybody there to be like, ‘Okay let’s talk it out. Let’s have fun with this.’ So hopefully actors don’t hate me. But we have such a great relationship, and I don’t think it can be hurt by me directing them. [But] I don’t know. We’ll see.”

While one Teen Wolf spoiler involves a new opportunity for a cast member, another Teen Wolf spoiler involves the end of character Stiles Stilinski, played by Dylan O’Brien. In an interview with Forbes after the New York Comic Con, Teen Wolf show runner Jeff Davis said that he might lose Dylan O’Brien “at some point” due to the actor’s movie career.

According to Venture Capital Post, despite this departure, the characters Stiles Stilinski and Lydia Martin will officially become a couple in the end of Season 5. Dylan O’Brien seems at peace with his departure according to comments he made for the article.

“I’m just very aware of what this show means to me, and I would never, by my own hand, say it’s time for me to move on. I’m going to miss this show when it’s over. Forever and ever this will be my first role, and that’s so special. As long as the stories are still being told, I will have a hand in telling them.”

In addition to the Teen Wolf spoilers involving cast members, another Teen Wolf spoiler revolves around the addition of skinwalkers to the supernatural drama. Skinwalkers originate in Native American lore and are a type of shapeshifter. Like werewolves, they have the ability to transform from people into animals.

Movie Pilot states that characters Kira Yukimura (played by Arden Cho) and her mother will be the ones involved with the skinwalkers. Together, Kira and her mother will travel away from their small town and into New Mexico in order to fix Kira’s fox spirit animal, which has had a bit of an attitude problem as of late. Teen Wolf wanted to ensure that their version of skinwalkers is authentic, so they hired a Navajo consultant to work with the Native American lore.

Further details about this Teen Wolf spoiler involved the casting of Native American actress Tonantzin Carmelo. The actress is best known for her role in the 2005 Steven Spielberg miniseries Into the West in which she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Western Heritage Role.

Since its emergence onto TV, Teen Wolf has received positive responses from critics. While the premise of a teenage werewolf originally seemed like just another installment in the current canon, Teen Wolf’s global component has distanced itself from the pack. In its first five seasons, Teen Wolf has added elements from French, Aztec and Japanese legends. While Season 4 briefly introduced Native American lore, the latter half of Season 5 will explore it much more deeply.

Teen Wolf will resume its fifth season in January 2016, and during this winter hiatus, spoilers are beginning to emerge. Teen Wolf stars Tyler Posey as werewolf Scott McCall and is loosely based on the 1985 movie of the same name that starred Michael J Fox. The fifth season began in June of 2015 and had its mid-season finale on August 24. It will resume on January 5.

Teen Wolf has recently been renewed for a Season 6. As the Teen Wolf spoilers of the second half of Season 5 indicate, the TV show is not content with the status quo.
