‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Spoilers: New Footage Reveals Plot Details

Fans were pleasantly surprised when new Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers were revealed in the new international trailer released Friday, which includes a ton of new footage and plot details.

The new Star Wars trailer left fans even more excited because it showed dialogue between the main characters for the first time. We have seen Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Leia (Carrie Fisher), and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) in the previous trailers, however, they don’t actually talk to each other even though they are in the same scene.

As stated in the title, this article has SPOILERS so please proceed with caution.

The first interesting thing to point out in the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers is when Rey and Finn introduce themselves.

“I don’t know your name.” Rey says.

“Finn.”

“I’m Rey.”

Rey is a scavenger in the planet Jakku and Finn — a renegade Stormtrooper — somehow finds himself there (this part of the plot is not yet clear and we don’t really know why Finn left his post) and is being chased by the First Order villains Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

Talking about Kylo Ren, the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers also showed that cross lightsaber in action for the first time and Rey looks terrified when she comes face to face with it. It is clear that Rey and Finn are bound together, but what binds them together? The Force?

At the beginning of this new international trailer, a voice — which we assume is that of Leia Organa — asks Rey, “Where do you come from?” She replies, “I know all about waiting…for my family.”

Though a lot of the plotline is still safely hidden by director J.J. Abrams, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is all about the Skywalker family saga and also stated that Rey is “extremely significant” to this new trilogy, which is supported by the amount of screen time Ridley has received since the first trailer was released.

Another spoiler that came with the new Star Wars trailer is the cross lightsaber in action. For the first time we see Kylo Ren actually wielding the feared weapon against Rey, who looks terrified. Something is clearly amiss, as she is seen sobbing in the previous Star Wars trailer.

One of the best things about the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers is that they confirm what we’ve seen in the previous trailers. The feel of the original trilogy is strong and Abrams’ promise to keep longtime fans wishes in mind seems to be panning out, as Rey dashes across a desert that looks extremely similar to Tatooine, where Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) lived with his aunt and uncle in A New Hope.

Luke Skywalker is missing and is nowhere to be found in this new Star Wars trailer, which makes fans wonder even more, what is the Jedi actually up to. It has been 30 years since Luke, with the help of Han, Leia, R2 D2 (Kenny Baker), and C3PO (Anthony Daniels) destroyed the second Death Star and freed Darth Vader.

Now it seems Kylo Ren is determined to “finish what you started” as he looks at a mangled Darth Vader mask and tears through Jakku in hopes to find Finn, or so we assume. Once again we see Finn in that snowy forest, the same one where we first came across Kylo Ren, who in the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, threatens Rey with his red lightsaber.
