‘Wonder Woman’ Movie Plot Leaked? Rumored Villain Motivation Might Mean Spoilers

The Wonder Woman movie’s plot may already have been leaked. In a recent potential online rumor, the film’s villain may be kickstarting what eventually leads to Princess Diana (Gat Gadot) joining Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) when the two face off.

There are even rumors that while Batman’s suit will be very different in the upcoming rivalry film, Jesse Eisenberg might actually not be Lex Luthor. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Eisenberg’s character tweeted a message leading to the possibility of him actually playing Alexander, Luthor’s son.

In an interview with Fortune Magazine, Jesse Eisenberg went full method as Alexander Luthor.

“Dad named the company after himself 10 years before I made my unexpected entrance into his life. But investors seemed to respond to the idea of an adoring father building a legacy for his precious son. He used that to his advantage. It was a good shtick and, whatever else he was, he was a good businessman.”

Of course, Lex Luthor might need his patented super suit to even rival the reported villain from the Wonder Woman movie’s plot. The rumored villain is none other than the god of war, Ares, who Heroic Hollywood claims is after the sword of the gods. The Greek god uses the services of the sorceress Circe (possibly played by Nicole Kidman?) to acquire the mythical blade from the Amazons. Then, he attempts to start World War III and harnesses the negative energies to unlock the power of the sword and become the most powerful god, and proceed to take over Olympus.

By the end of the film, the sword allegedly ends up missing somewhere on Earth.

As JoBlo points out, Wonder Woman, being an Amazon, is basically the DC superhero based on Greek mythology. It makes sense that her debut movie would be similar to that of Marvel’s Thor. It’s still early in production though, so anything can change.

After all, Jesse Eisenberg might actually be the son of Lex Luthor instead of playing the role of the man himself. This contradicts the casting facts that have been stated since his involvement was announced, though it may have been a clever act to conceal the plot of the film.

The Ares storyline might lead Princess Diana straight from the Wonder Woman movie plot into Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice the same way most solo Marvel movies have led into successive Avengers films.

Of course, the chances of another retelling of Batman’s origins in a solo movie might be thrown aside for the same reason we’re not getting another Spider-Man origin story. We’ve seen it twice already, and audiences just want to see the character in engaging, action-packed stories (or just beating up villains).

Searching for the sword of the gods on Earth is rumored to be the reason Wonder Woman is involved in Batman V Superman. Perhaps she’s attempting to get the Man of Steel’s super vision or Bruce Wayne’s computers to help her find it? Her end goal is apparently to keep the sword safe from the hands of malevolent gods who might try it again, wrapping up what might start the Wonder Woman movie’s plot.

Marvel fans might notice a similarity between the cinematic universes, as well, what with Loki using his scepter to take over Earth as Thor and the rest of the Avengers attempt to keep it where it can’t cause any further harm.

It is still unknown what Aquaman will be doing in Batman V Superman, though if the rumors surrounding the Wonder Woman movie’s plot are true, he might be attempting to help her find the sword in case it ended up in the sea.

Do you think the rumors are true and we’ll see a mythological face-off between Princess Diana and the god of war Ares?
