Lamar Odom Gets 36th Birthday Gift From Khloe Kardashian Of Medical Costs Paid Amid Fight & Long Road To Recovery
Lamar Odom spent his birthday in a hospital room. And despite all those rumors that Lamar had accused Khloe Kardashian of exploiting his drug overdose and health crisis for fame, Odom celebrated his birthday with Khloe by his side, reported the Daily Mail.
It was a party in true Keeping Up With The Kardashians style as pregnant 35-year-old Kim Kardashian, along with Kris and Kylie Jenner, all went to the Cedars-Sinai Hospital to celebrate with Khloe and Lamar.
Turning 36, Odom was the center of the celebration. While 18-year-old Kylie, attired in a figure-fitting unitard, got a ride from her 25-year-old boyfriend Tyga, Kim and Kris showed up in a black Rolls Royce. The oldest sister, Kourtney Kardashian, came separately.
Lamar had his birthday party in a meeting room, and physicians permitted him to leave his bed to attend. Some of his former teammates and his former NBA trainer also were expected and Khloe livened up the hospital environment with cake, party hats, and bright balloons.
Those charges for all the medical care needed since Lamar was found unconscious after a drug overdose last month have continued to skyrocket, estimated in the millions.
“Lamar is still a rich man on paper, but he’s cash poor because most of his savings are tied up,” pointed out a source. “He burned through an absolute fortune on drugs and hookers this past year or two, so finding immediate funds for these huge private health care bills is getting difficult.”
But the 31-year-old star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians is focused on getting Odom healthy rather than the cost, and she’s demanded top-notch medical care for the man to whom she remains legally married.
But while Kardashian hopes for the best, many are amazed that Odom has even gotten to this point in his recovery, reported CNN.
In the days after he was discovered unconscious at a Nevada brothel, it took a while before Lamar could be moved safely to the Los Angeles hospital where he is now. Brothel staff members have revealed that Odom used cocaine, a report denied by the bordello owner Dennis Hof.
In addition to the cocaine allegations, another insider claimed to have seen Odom consume 10 herbal supplements during a 3-day period. The exact contents have not yet been revealed but it is known that Lamar’s condition was serious enough so that even seeing him regain consciousness was a relief for Khloe.
However, although Khloe is with him to support him, Kardashian has firmly denied reports that they have reunited as a married duo.
Thus far, Odom has regained enough strength to move around with the use of a walker and guidance from others, reported CBS News.
“He is doing better but he has a long road ahead,” said an insider.
And while Khloe will travel that road with Lamar, Odom recently had a nasty battle with his wife, according to Radar Online.
“He thought it was only fair after the Kardashian spin machine went into overdrive in the days after his overdose,” revealed an insider. “But Khloe really lit into Lamar and accused him of being ungrateful.”
The result left Odom tearful, but Kardashian pointed out that in many ways, she “put her life on hold” to care for him.
As for whether Khloe will stay with James Harden, her current boyfriend, or consider reuniting with Lamar at some point?
“There is so much more medically and emotionally that we have to go through in order to even think about anything romantically (referring to Odom). This is a very serious situation with a lot of layers. He has a long road ahead of him, and I will be there by his side,”said Kardashian.
