Saturday’s biggest college football matchup, with the Florida State Seminoles storming Death Valley looking to take a scalp from the nation’s top-ranked team, the Clemson Tigers, will be available for fans to watch live online and streaming for free. The game will likely decide the winner of the Atlantic Coast Conference Atlantic Division and a berth in the ACC Championship game in December.
The 2015 edition of the annual confrontation between Florida State and Clemson also carries with it major implications for College Football Playoff qualification — especially for the Tigers who are just getting used to occupying the number one position in the CFB rankings and come into the rivalry game at 8-0.
The Seminoles are currently ranked No. 16 and come in at 7-1, and 5-1 in the ACC with only a narrow, 22-16 October 24 loss to Georgia Tech blemishing their record.
Florida State also comes in the midst of confusion over who, exactly, will be under center for the Clemson game. Regular starter Everettt Golson, the 22-year-old Notre Dame transfer, has been cleared to play Saturday after recovering from a concussion.
But backup Sean Maguire filled in for Golson last week against Syracuse and proceeded to throw for 348 yards and three touchdowns, completing 23 of 35 pass attempts as he led the Seminoles to a convincing 41-25 victory over the Orangemen.
The Clemson Tigers, however, present an entirely different and more difficult set of problems for Maguire — or Golson if he gets the nod. As late as Friday afternoon, Florida State Coach Jimbo Fisher refused to make a decision about his Saturday starter, saying only, “He can play in the game,” when asked about either of his signal callers.
To find out how to watch the No. 16 Florida State Seminoles Vs. No. 1 Clemson Tigers ACC college football game live online for free, see the streaming links in the final paragraph of this article. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time/12:30 p.m. Pacific on Saturday, November 7, at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina.
Though they are not yet sure who’ll be playing the quarterback position on Saturday, the Seminoles know who will be running the ball, as sophomore Dalvin Cook put in a full week of practice for the first time since pulling a hamstring against Wake Forest on October 3, and will be ready to start the game at Clemson.
“I haven’t seen a guy like him in a long time,” said Clemson head Coach Dabo Swinney on Friday. “He is a really special player in every regard of that word.”
Clemson, on the other hand, knows exactly who will be calling the signals Saturday, as 20-year-old quarterback Deshaun Watson, an emerging Heisman Trophy candidate, is ready to play — even if in public, he’s playing it cool.
“My main focus right now is getting these tests done this week and finishing up school,” Watson said earlier this week. “And then football.”
