Man Jumps Overboard A Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship: ‘You Murdered Him!’

There’s a new video that’s getting plenty of buzz, showing the moment when a passenger aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship went overboard. The horrific video shows the moment when the unnamed 35-year-old man, reportedly from Brazil, stopped hanging on to his precarious spot on the cruise ship. People can be heard screaming for others to hold onto the man, but the man can be heard screaming that others should let go of him.

The video shows the moment the cruise ship passenger fell overboard, reports ABC News about the truly disturbing video. The melee happened aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship at around 1 a.m. overnight.

The man who jumped off the Royal Caribbean cruise ship near the Bahamas, reports NBC 6 South Florida, appeared to have jumped over on purpose. According to the publication, the man was seen intentionally going over the Royal Caribbean side of the ship by crew members. It was the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas ship where the tragedy occurred. In the video, differing voices can be heard screaming, with the man who jumped apparently telling others to let go of him even as others screamed for him to get out of danger.

The man who jumped over the side of the ship sounds like he screamed at another person, claiming they murdered someone. Lots of blame sounds like it’s going around prior to the man jumping, with someone saying it’s their fault that the man is in that suicidal predicament.

You murdered him!

Until he’s back onboard I’m not going anywhere.

Hold onto him. Don’t let him jump!

Oh my God!

Stop yelling…let them work.

Oh my God!

Don’t move. Hold on to him.

You don’t touch. It’s because of you this happened.

Let go of me. Get off me.

He’s there! Stop! There he is! Get the life thing! Throw it over! Throw it over!

A big scream is let out from those watching the man as he seems to let go or slip and fall back into the ocean. Despite pleas from others to throw the man a lifeline, the man is missing after his fall from the cruise ship near the Bahamas, reports the Toronto Star. Both the Royal Caribbean officials and the Coast Guard said the man who jumped was on the seventh deck of the massive ship when he went overboard.

The most recent news reports about the man who fell or jumped overboard from the Royal Caribbean ship, as reported by BuzzFeed News, say that a search and rescue is underway for the man.

“Coast Guard Petty Officer David Schuhlein told the Sun Sentinel there is one aircraft with seven crew members that took flight at 4 a.m., and was flying ‘all the low search patterns in the area,’ he said. One helicopter has also been deployed.”

Another report from U.S. Coast Guard Petty officer Mark Barney declared that the man initially jumped into a life boat but then fell into the water afterward. He was not wearing a life jacket.

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas ship is the world’s largest cruise ship. When the man jumped overboard, the ship was only 17 miles east of Turks and Caicos Islands. Whether the search and rescue will turn to a recovery effort is not known, but the video is disturbing.
