Gwen Stefani Shares Marriage Struggles Before Dating ‘Rad’ Blake Shelton & Enjoying Life As ‘Shelfani’ [Video]

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have confirmed in public displays of affection, as well as through dating, what’s been rumored and reported for weeks: Gwen has given her heart to the country crooner. And, what do you call it when Stefani couples with Shelton? Meet the dynamic duo some are calling Shelfani.

However, although representatives for both Blake and Gwen provided confirmation that Stefani and Shelton are a couple, Gwen played it coy in a recent interview, reported Entertainment Tonight.

“He’s a pretty rad guy, I have to say that,” Stefani admitted.

Gwen Stefani also expressed her appreciation for the many people who provided her with support during her divorce from Gavin Rossdale. Stefani reflected on several of The Voice coaches, talking first about Blake.

“There’s definitely key people that have pointed me into the right direction. Blake really helped me,” shared Gwen. “Pharrell was literally like a guardian angel.”

However, Stefani got fired up when questioned about revealing that she was dating Shelton.

“We didn’t! Like, somebody did. That’s what’s so crazy like, who announces that? Why would I do that?” demanded Gwen.

But, representatives for both Stefani and Shelton separately confirmed that The Voice coaches had become a couple.

“Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating,” confirmed a spokesperson for Stefani.

As for reports that Stefani and Shelton co-authored a new country tune, she denied it. A source, however, claimed that Shelfani had done so, but it’s not known whether they recorded it.

“He’s not writing on my record,” said Stefani.

Stefani showed her sense of humor when asked if she prefers Southern men or British men.

“Oh, that’s such a funny question!” laughed Gwen. “Let’s see, I would say if I had to choose, Southern.”

Although previously seen together outside of The Voice filming, Stefani and Shelton also appeared as a canoodling duo at a party following the CMAs in Nashville.

Gwen Stefani is seemingly enjoying PDA with Shelton now, but Stefani also recently spoke candidly about the pain she experienced in trying to balance a career, marriage, and motherhood, reported Us Weekly.

The 46-year-old pop singer was married for 13 years before splitting from Rossale and finding consolation with Blake Shelton. Gwen and Gavin have three little boys. Apollo is just 20-months-old, while Kingston is 9-years-old and Zuma is 7-years-old.

“In the beginning, I didn’t want to think of myself as a mother. I had to learn to accept it,” Stefani reflected. “Being a mother and having a career — those are just different roles you play. You’re still the same person you were before, but now you’re more because you’re a mother, too, with a lot to do.”

In addition, Stefani struggled to balance the complicated schedule required with the children’s school, work, and managing their home.

“Every day I would take the kids to school, drive to Santa Monica, work on the album, and then I’d think, ‘Oh my god, if I don’t leave by 2:30, I’m not gonna get home in time for dinner,” recalled Stefani.

But, Gwen Stefani credits the way in which The Voice expanded her horizons for restoring her creativity and enthusiasm.

When Stefani came on board the popular singing competition show in 2014, she was having problems creating songs and lacking confidence. Gwen Stefani also felt that prior to having her third child, Apollo, she struggled.

“And then having Apollo, and being on the show, and being refreshed: It was just like, ‘Whoa!'” she said. “I’m in a really positive place now,” confirmed Stefani.

With Shelton also recently divorced from Miranda Lambert following their four-year marriage, Blake is also helping her enjoy that positive place. Blake and Miranda revealed their divorce two weeks prior to Gwen and Gavin.
