‘Avengers: Infinity War’: From Loki’s Return To Possible Deaths — Everything We Know So Far

Although the release date for Avengers: Infinity War is still a ways off, plenty of leaks have already surfaced that are sure to get fans excited for the movie. In fact, leading the way are rumors that indicate a few deaths are in store during part one of the series, and a possible return is in the cards for Loki.

According to Cinema Blend, the main villain in the two-part movie series will be Thanos. Thanos has been working behind the scenes in a number of different Marvel Comics Universe films, including the first two Avengers films and Guardians of the Galaxy. Although he has yet to be directly involved in the story lines as the main bad guy, his cameo at the end of the Avengers: Age of Ultron seems to suggest that he is ready to step out from behind the curtain and take on the superheroes himself.

Exactly what the main storyline will entail is yet to be seen, but if Thanos is involved, then it will likely feature his Infinity Gauntlet. In the comics, Thanos gathered together all of the Infinity Stones and used them wipe out half of the universe. Although it isn’t known if the movie will follow the comics closely, the Infinity Stones have already been introduced, which makes it likely that this is the direction they are going to pursue.

Speaking of the Infinity Stones, Latinos Post is reporting that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is set to make a return in the new Avengers: Infinity War. As fans will recall, Loki was featured in the first Avengers film as the main bad guy who wielded one of the Infinity Stones, known as the Tesseract.

Apparently, Loki may be joining forces with Thanos in order to gain possession of the Tesseract, which was last seen in the Asgard. Whether or not this happens in the second or the third film is unknown, but it definitely doesn’t bode well for the Avengers if Loki and Thanos manage to get a hold of the Infinity Stones.

In regards to the villains, it appears as though the events that are set to unfold in Captain America: Civil War will have a direct impact on the next Avengers movie. With that in mind, it is thought that The Vision may become a third villain in the film, though this has yet to be confirmed. Either way, The Vision will undoubtedly play a large role in the movie because of his interaction with the mind stone.

With Thanos and Loki likely to be teaming up, they are set to become a formidable force against the group of superheroes. In fact, according to Yibada, Thanos is so powerful that a few of the heroes will meet their end in part one. Although nothing official has been released, the characters that are expected to die include Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, and Iron Man.

Whatever ends up happening with the group of superheroes, the next two Avengers films are set to be the culmination of everything that has happened in the Marvel Comics Universe since the release of the first Iron Man movie. This means that not only will fans get to see all of the members of the Avengers team assemble once more, but they will also be teaming up with the heroes in Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as any new characters introduced in the coming years.

As to the potential deaths, it will definitely be interesting to see how filmmakers approach this subject. After all, the MCU will continue on after the release of the fourth Avengers, so they can’t kill everyone off.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is scheduled to premiere in theaters May 4, 2018, with the second part set to air in May of 2019.
